Right now, I'm kinda hooked. I hope it doesn't go south on me! LOL If you want to wait a day or so, I should be finished. As soon as my little fella goes to bed, I'm going to read, read, read. :)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) I finished How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks I liked it but it was a light, fluffy, cheesy, not very well written, paranormal romance. By no means did I find it a "how to guide" to anything LOL. I am still wondering what significance the title has to the book. It had repetitive aspects to it like the term "God's Blood" which drove me crazy when it appeared in every few sentences. Most all of the characters were likable except Shanna, she was a bit whiney, crying all the time, and was a "God's Blood" dentist who had a blood phobia. Overall the plot had it's highs and lows, was full of highlanders and it had a few humorous moments. Giving it 3 stars mainly because I liked several of the characters.

rameau | 90 comments I finished reading Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire and it was painful. I'll link here when I've finished writing the review.

Started an old book to take my mind of the new ones: Duchess in Disguise by Caroline Courtney

@Jenny & Elishia - I finished Beyond Complicated by Mercy Celeste and the title doesn't even begin to cover it. Holy crapola!! I highly recommend - I gave it 5 stars! I can't believe the boundaries she pushed, and the twists and turns in the plot. I didn't see half of it coming. Love it! What a ride!!
Here's my review (no spoilers): http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Jenny I felt the same way when I read it. I kept thinking that if everyone L.O.V.E.D. it then there must be a reason. I just couldn't find it!

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I needed an audiobook to be able to do "the thing" I have to do at work so I started Vengeance in Death (In Death, #6) by J.D. Robb from the library!

@Elishia & Jenny - Hope you like it! :)

message 1113: by [deleted user] (new)

@shosho - I have some of the In Death books, but haven't started reading them yet. I keep hearing such great things about it. So great, in fact, I just recommended the series to my boss (who picked up Fifty Shades of Grey unaware of the content). *snicker* I think she turned 50 shades of red when I told her what it was about!! And then I recommended this series instead. Now I need to get reading them.

That's what I should do! One a month won't seem like too much. It's a plan!

Oooo...the Night Huntress books are good. I took a break from the series, but am excited to get back to them.

message 1118: by [deleted user] (new)

I just read Varick The Reluctant by Red Phoenix as a freebie on Amazon. Eh...it was okay. Good writing, but slow even for a novelette. I think I expected something faster paced. When I got to the end, it made sense why it wasn't: It's book one of a series (kinda like a length prologue), so basically wordbuilding weighed it down.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Glad I could help you out, Kyra! :)

Carrie, I started the Night Huntress books last month and am ready to start book 5. I've really enjoyed them and I LOVE Bones!

I copy/pasted for my review! ;) So, it's settled. If I don't know what to write for a review, I'll just tell my book buddies what I thought, and copy/paste that. Apparently, the pressure's off that way. *snicker*

message 1124: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) @ Kyra and Susan: Bones really reminds me of Spike from BtVS. I've always loved Spike and Buffy was/is my favorite show. So me and this book are going to get along just fine. :)

@Carrie I've never watched Buffy. I'm not much of a tv watcher, never have been. Cat can be a little aggravating, so can her mother, but Bones more than makes up for it ;)

message 1143: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments So I bought my second ever audiobook today. The first one was such a humungous disaster that I thought I was cured of it, but in all honesty, as much as I like the In Death series books I've read so far, I just can't seem to get into it with gusto... So I'm bowing to the experience of those here who have suggested that the Audio version of these books is worth a try. Will keep you all posted on how I go with it.
