The wee hours of the morning sounds just about right for a book titled Scandal. ;) Kinda sets the tone, don'tcha think?

Great book! But I had to take a break after this one. I was getting burned out on the series. (Yes, after only 3. LOL)

I read the first 2 last week, then finished my challenges for July before starting this one. I'll probably start on my August challenges before reading the next one ;)

@Susan - I'm at the point where it branches off into the Crimson something-or-other. Hmm...really need to get back to this series.

Lina | 5563 comments Really shosho? What's been stopping you? Have you lurked?

I've got that one to read for a challenge, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the first. How did you find it?

Hi, Shosho! *waves*

I soooo need to get to this book, too. I really enjoyed the first one, but haven't made it to this one yet. Don't know why I keep putting it off.

message 811: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished Tied Up, Tied Down (Rough Riders #4) by Lorelei James and need to finish Aiden's Charity (Breeds, #12) by Lora Leigh . Then I'm wide open to tackle my August challenges. :)

I don't know why !!being lazy I guess but been lurking for a while !A good way to find new books ;)
I wasn't impressed either(and knew it wouldn't be very good) but you see ,I wanted to read 4 5 and 6 in the series so I had to start the series from #1!
Have you read the Fever series? Some of the heroes in the highlander series make an appearance in there.KMM has some delicious heroes !

Have you read any others in this series? I started with book 4, but haven't read any others.

message 815: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments and I meant to add that books 4, 5, and 6 are supposed to be a mini-series within the series and can be read out of order LOL

But you see , I can't do that , something in me doesn't let me start from 4 ,even if they have nothing to do with each other!! I did that with one of the series and I still have nightmares :)))

message 817: by ~Megan~ (last edited Jul 30, 2012 06:42PM) (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) I'm with you, shosho.....I am OCD about reading books in order.

Right now I'm reading Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia, #1) by Deanna Raybourn with CaroB and listening to Missing in Death (In Death, #29.5) by J.D. Robb .

At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost

message 821: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Whoa, Megastar! You are almost finished with the In Death series! I'm impressed. I keep trying to get to Seduction in Death (In Death, #13) by J.D. Robb

message 822: by Gisela, Moderator (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Just finished Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost . I liked the book and I LOVED Bones, but I have lukewarm feelings about Cat. I think I'm too tough on my heroines! If I read the next it will be because of Bones.

message 823: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) Don't listen to the audiobooks of the Night Huntress series. I didn't think it was possible, but the narrator actually removes all of Bones' sexiness with the terrible voice she does for him. I think his voice is higher than hers.

Megan I listened to the whole series and the spin off series and I didn't mind the narrator voice but that's possibly the reason I don't find Bones that sexy!!!!

Bones is my major driving factor with these books. Book 2 is great, Book 3 is good...but it burned me out on the series. I've been reading them randoming since then. Still good, though.

I didn't care for Cat too much after reading that one, but she's grown on me and I like her much more now.

It is!!! LMBO! Sounds like he has inhaled helium. I've grown used to it now. However, you'll notice, I haven't continued on with the series.

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost

message 838: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) It's like an Eliza Doolittle cockney accent on top of the squeakiness, too.......I just can't do it.

On the flip side, I think the In Death series is best enjoyed in audio.....it is brilliantly done. Every single one of the voices/accents are spot on.

message 839: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments Ha ha ha Megan I actually know of someone that sounds exactly how you described.
I find Rourke's accent really funny but think that's because the narrator already has an accent on top of the Irish one.

message 840: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I actually like Bones' cockney accent, he sounds pretty cocky - and I love the way he says "Kit - ten" LOL! However, the In Death series is the best; Susan Ericksen deserves some type of metal. Nevertheless, Robert Petkoff is now doing the Immortals After Dark series, and he is so yummy he is giving her a run for her money.

message 841: by Elishia (new)

Elishia | 2620 comments I live in East London so that's quite a normal accent here.

message 842: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) The accent itself wouldn't be so bad if he didn't also sound like Mickey Mouse.

this is a comment I made when I was listening to Halfway to the Grave !!!

shosho: Hmmm I'm listening to the audio book , and bones accent makes him sound like an old English woman ,not at all sexy!!!! I can't stop imagining him sitting on a chair with a blanket on his knees , sipping tea!!

Rachel the Book Harlot I finished Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells , which was excellent, and I'm going to start Book 2: Fragments (Partials, #2) by Dan Wells .

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I finished To Tame A Highland Warrior (Highlander #2) by Karen Marie Moning
it was a bit silly sometimes and there were some mistakes with the characters ages , other than that I liked it !
I started Red Lily (In The Garden, #3) by Nora Roberts , not a big fan of the narration but I had to finish the series and the library had them on audio!!!
