Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I love mine. Did you get the Kindle Fire, Ann?

message 652: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) no I got the Kindle 3g, I do not have a computer at home and the Kindle 3g works like your cell phone so I don't need wifi. I looked at the Fire but since I could not download books from home it just did not make since to me to get it.

message 653: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Ah! I haven't checked out the 3g to see its features.

Lina | 5563 comments Hi Michelle!!!! I'm doing a bit of a Nora Roberts marathon myself at the moment. What do you think of Blue Smoke?

I'm seeing a few Christine Feehan readers out there at the moment, I should try her again, it's been a while for me...

I'm reading The Lady's Code by Samantha Saxon and am honestly kind of bored reading it. It's moving veeerrrrryyy slow. I hope it picks up soon.

Eeeep, well I thought Lord of Scoundrels was just okay. The story & writing style just didn't work for me but I am definitely in the minority because nearly all of my GR buds who read it loved it. So, I am odd man out.

(view spoiler)

I freaking hate when that happens! :)

Now I've started In the Midnight Rain by Barbara Samuel by Barbara Samuel.

message 666: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Rachel, I hate that when it happens, too. I always feel it is me. Or my mood. **sigh** But, it probably isn't, in this case; I haven't read Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase in ages; I'm betting it might be a little dated on re-read.

I'm really getting into the historical mystery books and there are so many new to me authors to chose from.

Love that genre, Ann! Especially if it has a touch of romance - even if it isn't between the main protagonist. I went to the library yesterday, before the workmen got here, and picked up
What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris . Dying to crack it open.

I loved Fate's EdgeI gave it 5 stars and I am very picky about giving out 5 stars!

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 845 comments Lisa Kay - What Angels Fear is a very good book. I've heard they get better as the series goes on. And The Edge Series is one of my favorites as well. Have you tried Still Life With Murder (Gilded Age Mystery, #1) by P.B. Ryan yet? Highly recommend this historical mystery. And Jennifer Ashley also writes a historical mystery series that is very good.
I'm reading Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward and A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin . I'll be starting Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner and The Wolf Who Loved Me (Westfield Wolves #5) by Lydia Dare later this week. So many books, so little time.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Oh, you're killing me with What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris , Leslie! Man-oh-man! I haven't even taken a shower this morning, which I need to do b/f the workmen get here. Fiddle farting around on GRs. What a surprise! I got Still Life With Murder (Gilded Age Mystery, #1) by P.B. Ryan when it was free on Kindle. That's high on my list, too, Leslie! Stop! You're really killing me. LOL!

I haven't heard of that last book... **scurries off to investigate**

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 845 comments Thanks Jenny! I bought the whole bundle and have read 3 of them - really good stories. And I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
I love to find people who like historical mystery. The P. B. Ryan (she also writes under another name) series is set in Boston and has a romance that's subtle. I love the characters and the storyline.

Always happy to share my obsessions, Lisa Kay!

now reading A Regimental Murder (Captain Lacey, #2) by Ashley Gardner

Rachel the Book Harlot I just finished In the Midnight Rain by Barbara Samuel by Barbara Samuel. It was okay; well written but very slow paced so some parts were a bit of a slog to get through. I did enjoy the romance to some extent and I really liked the H, Blue. Now I'm reading On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves by Tracey Garvis-Graves.

I finished The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives A Novel by Lola Shoneyin . Set in Nigeria, I wasn't sure that I would like this book, but it really surprised me. Started off slow but after the first 50 or so pages,it was one that I wanted to read more and more to see what was going to happen next. Lots of little twists and turns and surprises ☺ I LOVED IT!!! 5 stars.

Your cousin was right!!!! It was really good ☺☺☺
