Contohnya saya: baca tp jarang reply:)
Alhamdulillah 14/60 so far. Teruja tengok statistik orang lain. Bersemangat!

Sbb challenge ni, rasanya utk jenis buku yang kita baca dari mula mukasurat hingga habis. Menunjukkan kita dah berjaya habiskan that particular books and that we able to provide review. Ermm.. macam tu la kot..

i think non fiction had a more wide range read, so should be enlisted also :)

because CekMoNSter, kucing2 sedang berkomplot untuk menakluki dunia.

IMHO, how many pages you read do not really matter. I can finish HP and the Goblet of Fire in one sitting, and certainly did just that. Fiction is nice and all that, but it is better if we (using this word with great care) can read more non-fictions.
Please, kindly do not throw tomatoes at me. Honestly fictions are so tempting, like French fries (freedom fries if you prefer) or fried chickens, but non-fictions are, well, healthier?

Hello^^
Are you saying that fictions are consider as junk food for avid heavy-readers? Ouchh..That`s hurt..
Idk..Comparing them to fries sound too tasty to me, because this fries would never kill you from heart attack..Besides, the main purpose for this whole challenge is reading...Be it whatever you like..You can give a cat a book, but if it do not want to read, you can`t force it..(the above cat`s gift had proven this..) Same goes to human, I think..
Classifying things into which and what sounds like the proper way for some, but I`m a bit tardy, so yeah..
Anyway, this is a one person opinion..Others, Idk..
But I do try to read some non-fictions in between my fictional read:)

That's what I really mean. I do not mean to insult fiction lovers because that is like insulting myself. I just hope that avid readers and book lovers can go up another step to become knowledge seekers (and lovers). It is one thing to love reading, another thing to love book, and another even more different thing to have the thirst for knowledge.
I hope I don't sound holier than thou, but it kind of makes me worried to see our reading lists flooded with chic-lit, romance, YA, paranormal etc, etc. I actually kind of admired Sis Jules aka Bunnybaby's attempt to set a rule for herself last year. She wanted to read fiction to non with the ratio of 2:1. She would be reading more fictions still but there would be some balance.
Quality is still better than quantity. (Of course it is even better if you can get both). Again, kindly do not throw tomatoes at me.

If fiction is at lower level than non fiction, the fact is 80% books are fiction, and 80% of readers are females. That's why we have more fictions than non fictions.
I'm boring, so might as well my mind delved into fantasy world instead. I had non fictions too much during university years, and yes, now I'm working, I write papers to management. Boring, really boring stuffs.
I've led a boring, which sometimes people may described as colourful. Being diagnosed with RA, divorced, hearing loss, yup, I think I need a dose of fiction. If not, my life would be sombre indeed.
Article: Those Who Read Fiction Better at Reading People

FYI, once upon a time ago, I detest people reading junk magazines, such as Mastika, Mangga etc. but after I grew older and expand my circle of friends, I know that those are their reading preferences. And I learned to respect that. In fact, there is this one guy who detested people who reads Harry Potter (which I find amusing and funny actually, since he opens a thread and condemned people reading Harry Potter).
So of course, to each is his or her own preference. But please bear, there are also sensitivity issues when you start talking about non fiction / fiction readers.
And being in a corporate world, I, like Ummu Auni also had lots of management reports to be prepared. Thus, fiction is a sort of escapism for us. And, we read Judith McNaught's at the age of 10 or 11 (sort of our first love).
But please bear in mind, we also read the Flower in the Attic series at that age.. (which is kind of pscyhotic because that is an unusual book for kids).

But worse than that were those who won't read either. I tried to make them read non-fiction, they said it was hard and dull. I tried to coax them with fiction and they gave me the look of "Girl, there are better things to read. Buku agama ke, ingatkan fasal akhirat ke." I ended up giving them buku agama and such, but I had every suspicion they did not read those books. I don't know what else I could do. I have done my best and I worked hard, but maybe I tried too hard. It is just impressive how many excuses one person can come out with.

but come to think of it, I never know her buying any academic books also.
at least, could you please respect the people who read? I feel insulted when she said that (as an excuse of not reading).

Non-fiction books (particularly academical) can easily be outdated so I tend to look for updated materials online than in book form.
And as for religious books, there's a lot of published materials that contradicted to one another and can be use for political purposes so I'm extremely choosy in that way. Whenever I go to universities libraries, I like to look in the shelves and see if I could compare materials with references and if i had time, i like to look up unpublished islamic academical theses in the sections. Once in UMMC's medical library, a Jordanian PhD wrote a chapter of the usage of medicinal honey and detailed each sentences from the surah An Nahl and referred it to history and such. Which is very interesting if you drop by to the hospital.
