Why is this book called illusions?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but why is this book called illusions?

Because everything is an illusion. The illusions hiding the trolls from the fae and humankind. The illusion the Tam is supposed to be a normal kid. The illusion that Klea and Yuki don't know about faeries. The illusion that Klea wants to help the fae. So yeah, basically, everything is not what it seems to be.

That is a really good answer (and not a stupid question, Mimi) I agree with Brianna's answer. I actually just posted a few quotes from this novel on my book page yesterday, this quote came to mind when reading your question:

“Are you looking for something real in this world of illusions? Call me. Casual Flings need not apply. I am looking for Love.”

It's from Illusions, and that's Tam speaking for a class assignment. But I do think that this was Pike's way of giving some insight into her title and the story beneath the actual story. Like puzzle pieces that help put together the whole of Tamani's personality, or a thin paint stroke, just one part of a major portrait.

Along with what Brianna posted I also think that the title refers to love, and what it is. In the sense that the life Laurel is living, and Tamani too as he stays there protecting her, it's real but filled with illusions. An illusion about who she is and how others perceive her.

And I say it refers to love as an illusion also because of how hard it is for Laurel to figure out if her love for either David or Tamani is substantial enough, or real enough. I think maybe the illusion of love masks what it faulty in the characters lives and the only thing to do is try and see past the illusion, even if you can't escape it.

I love and adore this series as well. I just finished Illusions and was excited through each chapter. Well at least up until the fight. I felt that the Yuki story was dragged out a-lot. Is she this? Is she that? Is she working for Klea is she not through several chapters. Other than that i enjoyed it and was surprised at the ending. My favorite part was the dance. I hope Destined is just as Intriguing as this book is. I will be reading it soon. Team Tamani.

Honestly i don't know why its call illusions in spells this worde was said a lot and i was like i guess i know whats the next book was going to be but rhings was sopose to be as a illusion in the book the dance Tami coming back and a rare winter fairy that no one know about come on that is the illusion so this is probly on my tame why the book is call illusions
