Josie put her book in her other arm and reached down to take Jasper's hand.

She smiled a little awkwardly, and worry spilled into her eyes. "Slytherin, but... please don't judge me for it."
She nodded. "There's a lot of prejudice about my house, so apparently my personality doesn't matter if my colors are silver and green."
"Oh, that's too bad. But you should be able to find someone here at Hogwarts that feels the same way. I bet you would be great friends." Josie encouraged.
"I've done my best, I've about given up. I mean, I can survive alone, right?" She smiled, trying to look happy.
Josie shook her head. "I am sure you can survive on your own, but I don' think you would like it. I think it's best you don't give up."
"I survived alone for most of my time, but it isn't wise, nor fun" Jasper muttered, looking down at his free hand.
Azzy scuffed her shoe on the ground, looking at the floor before nodding. Her eyes lit up with a fire and she grinned. "I'll do my best. I shouldn't keep you, it's rude on my part."
"Come to think of it, I sort of did too." Josie replied, then laughed to herself. "Studying in the library worked wonders for me, though."
Azzy smiles sweetly. "It's never good to see someone angered or impatient with something you've done. To know it's your fault.. I hate it."
She nodded, getting the feeling she was boring these people. Which was probably true. "But anyhow, I should probably.. um.." Oh wonderful. She couldn't think of a single thing she needed to do.
Josie waited for the end of her sentence. "You should what?" She fi ally asked in the nicest way possible.
"Oh, well I don't either. I'm not really sure where you were going t,with that." Josie replied, slightly confused.
"The language? Speak it, maybe? Here, it sounds sort of like this.." She paused and tapped the bottom of her jaw with the back of her hand. "Ingrethy, julai yedter porofice, Syren." The languages came out as a smooth silken sound, rather than the course ugly noise most people would assume. "It means, 'This is the language of Syrens."
Azzy smiled quietly, "I learned through experience with the culture. Sounds stupid, but it honestly was fascinating."
"I lived underwater for.. 7 years, I think? You lose track of time after a while of unchanging light." She blushed slightly at her failure of memory.
"Well, yes I have been around them. I'm not that sucluted from the real world. I thought you meant living with them, like in the same house." Josie answered.
Azzy looked sheepish. "I moved around a lot. Most of my family died when I was 5, my twin, and my parents. My older brothers survived.
