He glanced back to where they had left Shae, his mind wandering to the stranger that had approached them earlier.
He grunted and replied, "I'm not *that* burly, am I?" He glanced at his stomach with an arched eyebrow. "I'm not sure I could use anymore fat, buuuut.. considering you haven't eaten yet, I'm up for it." Just smiled crookedly.
"Then what are we waiting for?" He immediately turned his attention on the doe and her fawn, watching as they grazed pleasantly by themselves; for a second he wondered where their buck was, but then at the same time, he was relieved there wasn't a buck he had to deal with right now.
"Hmm.. fawn." That would be more than enough itself to feed Shae; no need to let some good meat go to waste when they could limit that. He crouched down, pinning his gaze on the fawn; at the moment, it seemed impossible to be able to distract him from his focus on his prey.
He took the lead as offered and began to manuever towards the animals, softly and very, very slowly. The doe looked up and glanced at them, and he froze in his step for a couple really long sentences, and then with that and a flick of his tail, inviting the other two to the chase, he launched forward; the two deer jumped and began to hurtle away as they realized their lives were on the line.
He continued to sprint, allowing himself to catch up to them before attempting to leap on them; once close enough, he snapped at the fawn's heels, once, twice, trying to see if he could trip it up. At the same time, he was careful to avoid the doe's hooves; she could try to kick and it would hurt if she did.
"Eshansa!" he growled. "That's dangerous. We must work as a pack and focus on one." He narrowly avoided a slight attempt at kicking him in the face by the fawn.
"Eshansa!" He gave up the hunt and came to an immediate stop beside the she-wolf and her kill. "Did you not hear a word I said?"
"Whisper, over here!" he called. "Leave the fawn be for now. Maybe we'll continue the hunt later."
"That's no excuse," he spat. "Hunting a deer by oneself is dangerous, Eshansa." He growled underneath his breath, his tail waving high behind him like a flag, showing dominance. "Especially an adult deer. You should know better. You could have been killed, Shae."
"Exactly," he huffed, plopping down into a sitting position with an irritated grunt. He shook out his pelt, trying to shake out the anger, and he refused to look her in the eyes at the time being; he might melt down again if he did.
He sighed heavily, releasing the last of the frustration, and he looked over at Whisper with that crooked smile he always wore. "Have you never hunted before?"
"Well," he said with another small sigh, "that's good; I'm glad you got food." Just side-glanced towards Shae for a couple seconds.
He noticed her flinch and realized his mistake; softening his tone, he asked her while lying on the ground next to her, "Do you want to talk about it?"
Despite their spat from earlier and his urge to do something crazy about this brother of hers, he emitted a soft, concerned whine for his friend and he nudged her head with his nose in a comforting manner. "Thankfully it was just a dream."
Mist followed her brother close behind him. She could always...FEEL where Bear was. Mabie it was his intence anger, or they where just family, she didnt know but she did know that she could always tell where he was. She turned her head and stopped. Bear looked behind himself and chuffed. "Mist." He aksed but in a deep tone and knew she had heard something he couldn't hear. Eversince she was a pup, she was..."odd". Her powers where the same as her mothers but, she was blind from birth, but that didn't stop her. She could somehow tell where things where. Was it her ability for wind? He never knew but he did know that he still had to watch over her.
Whisper laid down. "Now, to change to the topic for her sake. I find it funny that I control fire yet, I love water."
Mist shook her head. "Hearing things gain." She said softly. Bear nodde and walked on. They where loners now. No pack..no home..no food. Bear kept his head high. He would not let his sister down.
