How do you read? Kindle or paperback? Do you have a favourite place where you can just zone out and read?

Lynxie I have so many book, my bookcase is overflowing! My husband bought me a kindle and I have nearly filled that too! I will pretty much read anything, though my kindle never leaves my side. It's like a personal attachment, can't leave home without it or the 1400 books I have on there!

Well, i prefer paper back, but as it's not possible to get all the book i want so Pdf files are just fine.

message 6: by Anne (new)

Anne Mikusinsi (abghostwriter) | 23 comments I read anywhere I can. Prefer pbacks but if its an author I love I will splurge on the hardcover.

message 7: by NayNay (new)

NayNay I read what ever I can...I have so many books, they are everywhere. But last Christmas my Husband gave me a KINDLE, and I love it. Now where ever I go my books come with me, no more worries about finding more room for books, it is great. But the only bad part of it is I miss going to the bookstore in search of my next novel.

Is their a limit to how many books you can store on it?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I read on my Kindle. Its awesome!

Not sure. I currently have fifty books so far.

There sure is, but it depends on the type of kindle you have. Mine apparently will fit approx 3500 (depending on the length and size of the files) however, I do know of someone who has actually filled it (just to see how many it would hold) and it topped out at 2790 odd.

The great thing is, that you can remove them from the kindle and put more on, but they remain in your Amazon account and you can put them back on your kindle again if you want later!

I should so be getting royalties off Amazon! I think I've given them about 50 sales on kindles haha

message 12: by NayNay (new)

NayNay Charlotte I thought the same way...I read a book a day and there is nothing (I thought) better than holding a book or going to a bookstore and browsing through all those wonderful titles. But then my Husband gave me a kindle for Christmas and I love it, right now I have over 2100 books stored on it and can you believe it they go everywhere I go. It is easy to read, not hard on the eyes, you can change the font to where you are comfortable reading, it is easy to download a book (in seconds.) It is the one of best gift my Husband ever gave me.

Jam(MHlover) (blanshire) | 27 comments I often read paperbacks, I mostly can't afford a hardback. I often read inside my room, but when I go out, I can be found inside Starbucks, reading while sipping my coffee.

message 15: by Lynxie (new)

Lynxie The Amazon totals just seem to keep rising... I'm at 724 books bought! I haven't read them all yet, but I'm making my way through them slowly. :)

I LOVE THE KINDLE!

message 16: by Nassima Kaddoura (new)

Nassima Kaddoura Paperback. Lol my room is the best place to read a book.

message 17: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (Bad Bird Reads) (jenniferbadbirdreads) | 75 comments I prefer paperback, while laying down on my bed or in a lazy-boy rocking recliner.

message 18: by Ally (new)

Ally (tennis_reader) | 12 comments I like reading paperbacks. I'll read on my bed with music on. I like reading outside if it's warm, sunny and not windy.

message 19: by ❋ Sylvia ❋ (new)

❋ Sylvia ❋ | 51 comments I'd prefer reading paperback, but as long as I'm reading I'm happy. I have piano music on my computer so I listen to that while reading its very relaxing

message 20: by Harsha (new)

Harsha (lopitsa) | 11 comments I read both paperbacks and ebooks, but I tend to prefer paperbacks. I usually read in my room, bed, or on a recliner chair :)

message 21: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (glaciermyst) Kindle, paperback, hardcover(library),PC in that order.

message 22: by Mindy (new)

Mindy | 12 comments I read on my ipad.

message 23: by Arushi (new)

Arushi (arushilisa) I really don't prefer reading electronically. I like paperbacks the best, then hardcovers, and then a PC, and then my iphone since i dont really have a kindle or ipad...iphone is a phone so the screen is small, plus i really prefer not to read books electronically.

message 24: by Lessa (new)

Lessa (morfeeless) | 3 comments Paperbacks or hardcover books I can feel with my own two hands, and can smell the pages of haha I read anywhere and everywhere except while travelling or I get sick.

message 25: by Arushi (new)

Arushi (arushilisa) Thank god i dont get carsick while reading in the car. Plus I look up every 10 to 20 pages to stop nausea :)

I get carsick when I try to read in the car. :( Its bad because we were once driving for 10 hours and I couldn't read any books to keep me occupied.

I also love the smell of a new book. ;D Even though I have a Kindle, I occasionally buy new books.

message 27: by Pam (new)

Pam | 2 comments I mostly read on my Nook Tab. But, I still love paperbacks best. Too bad I moved to a barbie sized houise so I really don't have room for the many bookshelves I need. So, the Nook is a livesaver, I just don't feel comfortable taking it in the bubblebath! It is convient in bed (has it's own light, adjustable), and very convient at work or on a trip tho =) And I read EVERYWHERE!!!!

Yeah, I don't typically buy new books because my mom thinks its pointless to buy books, but sometimes I smell them at a library--> the new copies, or sometimes I get new books as gifts. Theyre sooo amazing <3

message 31: by Valencia (new)

Valencia (empowered) I read mostly on my Nookcolor, which I absolutely love!!! I'll read paperback/hardback, but nothing beats the quality/ease of my ereader. I can get all my new release at 12:01 the night it comes out. I don't have to stress over a mailman losing my book, or fighting my parents to drive me an hour to the nearest bookstore. (: I'll read anywhere!!! But I'd say I read the most on the couch or in my room

I'm not sure about Kindle products, but I do know that with Nook products you can purchase memory cards to add to storage. I just order one yesterday so I can move all my music, photo, ect to make more room for my books (:

message 33: by Pam (new)

Pam | 2 comments Hey guys, re: the Nook storage, without a memory card I already have almost 150 books, several app's, and pictures and I still have 98% of my internal space available. So, I guess it holds a LOT OF BOOKS! I will get a memory card just to store my side loaded books which I haven't added yet since I upgraded to the Nook Tab. But, yea, it holds a LOT OF BOOKS =)

message 34: by Valencia (last edited Feb 05, 2012 01:07PM) (new)

Valencia (empowered) I don't have nearly as many books as you @Pam but I am willing to fill it up to it's extent!!!!! With my new memory card which I absolutely love I made even more room for all those books. (:

message 35: by Janysa (new)

Janysa (nysa123) | 42 comments I dont have a kindle... I have a nookcolor, and prefer to read it that way. I can reAD a book pretty much anywhere anytime. My fav is listenin to music that have words in it (I dislike very much instrumental music)while I read.

message 36: by Tom (new)

Tom (lagerhelps) Lovvve my kindle. Hate bookmarks and bending the book and holding it. I have a stand for mine and i just plop it on my desk at work and read in between jobs. I like quiet and just zone out. I have trouble reading even with a tv in background cause i just like to immerse myself into the story.

message 38: by Camille (new)

Camille | 4 comments Really like paperbacks. Holding a book in my hands, smelling the print, feeling the paper are all part of the "book" experience.

message 39: by Camille (new)

Camille | 4 comments Using a iPad comes in a distance second. Even with orientation locked, the page shifts. And it's much harder to hold.

message 40: by Camille (new)

Camille | 4 comments Does anyone download from their local library? Just found out I can do that in many formats. Have a Nook but find the iPad has a better screen. But then my iPad is new.

message 41: by Wan (new)

Wan (wanwaddell) | 27 comments I have NookColor but I've never read on it. Paperbacks or MM paperbacks are okay but I love the feel of hardbacks in my hand. I would curl up on my favorite chair and read in my home library looking out to my koi pond.

message 42: by Myndi (new)

Myndi | 26 comments I read on my Nook and regular books. Right now I'm reading a book (hardcover) for myself, but I'm reading Catching Fire to my kids on my Nook.

I love to read in bed before going to sleep, I also read while I wait up at the school for my kids. And to be honest I always have a book or my Nook or both in my purse so that if I'm ever caught somewhere bored, I can read.

message 43: by Belinda (new)

Belinda Kirkwood (boudiccatopaz) | 7 comments I prefer Paper books however with little space and with My kids having the problems they have (one has ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and Conduct Disorder, My middle son has all those plus Aspergers Syndrome, My 3rd just follows the others lol) due to this paper books really don't last long, they destroy them completely which upsets me so badly that lately e-books of any kind are convenient.

message 44: by Gavin (new)

Gavin I do not read at all nowadays. I listen to audiobooks instead.
The great thing is you can get through a book whilst still doing other things. Working, driving, and shopping are just some of the things currently receiving only half my attention.

Valencia (empowered) Camille wrote: "Does anyone download from their local library? Just found out I can do that in many formats. Have a Nook but find the iPad has a better screen. But then my iPad is new."

I don't download from my library since my library doesn't offer it :/ You can buy eBooks from different sites and sideload them onto the Nook if that helps.

message 46: by Scarlet (new)

Scarlet (extraordinarygirl86) | 11 comments Lately I've been doing a lot of reading on my kindle. It's just easier that way because I can get them downloaded quickly and for a cheaper price than if I were to just purchase a hardback or paperback copy.

I still prefer paperback books, though. I love my new kindle but nothing beats reading from an actual paperback book.

message 47: by Tori (new)

Tori (toridanielle) | 1 comments I love reading from paperback books. Hardback is fine also but I love the feeling of paperback books :P
I find it impossible to read on the computer (pdf files) because I get so distracted! I haven't read on a Kindle before but I still think I'd like the feeling of an actual copy of a book better :)

message 48: by Amber (new)

Amber Thompson (amberrosethompson) I prefer my kindle because I can manipulations text size and the contrast is soothing.
