Two of the groups I'm in are reading Masques by Patricia Briggs but it hasn't gotten very good reviews. Obviously some of you have read it, is it a good read?

It is one of her earlier books, so the writing isn't as good as she is now. I think if you go in with low expectations you will like it. I did like the book after this one much better.

I wanted to read one of the BOM's for jan, but everyone seems to be disappointed. I hate to put a book down without finishing. Should I just skip this month?

I think that if they sound interesting to you, then go for it. While we might not like the book, it could become your next favorite.

I've always wanted to try Masques because I've loved everything else I've read by Patricia Briggs. The other doesn't sound quite like my cup of tea.

Just finished Ascension. What a struggle. But the story did get to me... painfully slow... I like it enough to consider reading the next one... not yet though... although I like the concept and world construction, I got lost in all the politics and corruption and power plays.
