Hey Maddison, I think the Kobo reads .epub formatted books. So if I'm correct then the free books from amazon would not be possible to read on your Kobo. However, any free books from Smashwords yes you could since they offer the option to download the free books bin any format you want or need. You would choose .epub and then drag the book file after it downloads to your computer and drop it into your Kobo I'd say. But again I don't own a Kobo so I'm just using logic. I do it this way gore my iPad 3 which also reads .epub. Now if you have a computer you can go and grab the free books for kindle from amazon too. All you need to do is download the free kindle app from amazon. It's fast and its free and thus way you can get tons of free books every day from them. Hope this helps :)

What I do is get the free books from Kindle ,convert it to epub using Calibre then transfer it to my Nook.

You can't convert the amazon books to Epub as its DMR protecked by amazon you can however get the books from Smashwords in epub format and then download them to your computer and click open. They should appear in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Plug your nook into the usb slot and open ADE where you will see an Icon from Nook (under bookshelvs) drag and drop the books in ADE to the Nook icon. Click to open the Nook Icon and make sure the books transferred without errors (if an error occurs there will be two books with the same title but one in the form of numbers and symbols before the book title. Click on the black box with white triangle and then select delete to remove corrupt file)

SOme kindle books will be at Barnes and Noble free too, and Smashwords sometimes, but MOST of the Kindle ones are ones that were published with Kindle, so wont be available at places like Barnes and Noble. Send me a message here, let me know which you want, and I will see if I find elsewhere, or convert for you. :) That was my profile link for FB you posted, I am guessing you seen the free books I had posted there. :)

Hey Leigh which tool is that on the Calibre menu that will let me convert the DMR fikes? Cause mine are not bypassing when I go to convert?

Use this blog it will tell you what to download. It is a tool file you add to Calibre.

It works! I have converted my kindle book and then loaded them on my Nook with no problems. Make sure you have the latest update for Calibre.

I would like to ask you a question. Did you download Kindle app on your computer and download Calibre so you can now read it your nook.B&N free ebook is not as interesting ( will me me) as amazon or cheaper.

Yes, I downloaded Kindle/pc and then had to convert them in Calibre. I love my Nook but Amazon has more books especially from goodread authors. Now I have the best of both worlds! :)
