Okay so from what I got from [book:Crossed|97944370, I think that Ky somehow found a way to put his name into the Matching Pool but with Cassia. In Crossed he talks about how he's loved her since he first saw her at the pool and how he wonders what she'll think when she sees his Face for the last time... I don't know. My guess is Ky.

I think it was probably Mr. Markam, since he had a very high position in the society and wanted Ky to be matched with someone. He didn't know it would be Cassia, though. That's just fate. (Or an author's writing. ;) )
Ky put Ky's name into the matching pool. In the last chapters of Crossed Ky said "I wonder if she would have even noticed me if I hadn't done what I did." It was something to that effect. But it was most definitely Ky that put his own name into the matching pool because he said he loved Cassia ever since they were young.
I don't know actually. I think it would be cool if the author could put a big twist on it, and make it someone unexpected who put in his name, like Xavier. But yes, I think it's probably Ky who put his name in the pool.
I wonder if Xander did. But it also might have been that rebellion group messing with the Society. After all, they want to throw it off balance, right?
Probably someone like Cassia's father, who was able to and might be likely to join in the rebellion.
I think Xander did. I mean how would he know Cassia would get paired off with Ky and even on the slight chance she did, who's to say she'd choose Ky over Xander. He wouldn't have known any better.Xander and Ky are such good friends I think it would make sense that Xander would like to make Ky happy. Ky always did want to be put into the matching pool after all.
We all know Xander is totally capable of sneaking around behind the society's back so my best bet would have to be Xander. Besides, it seems like something he would do.
P.S. I like Xander over Ky and does Indie piss anyone other than me off?

the people from the Rising, is my guess.

I think with that quote, Ky was talking about jumping in to save Xander when they were young ... That was when she noticed him

I thought the society put their name together as part of an experiment to see what would happen. I remember Cassia's officer person saying how the entire thing had been set up by the society, her match to Xander, the 'mistake' image of Ky, her sorting to put Ky in a special category, then getting paired together during the hikes. The last chapter, Ky's statement regarding Cassia noticing him if he hadn't done what he'd done, I think he meant something else. I don't think it had anything to do with the matching. I think it was regarding the slip of paper Indie had given him from the scraps Xander had left for Cassia to find with his information. And Ky had thrown it away so Cassia wouldn't know about the secret Xander had to tell her the next time they met. I think Ky was wondering if Cassia would still pick him if she knew the secret.
There's lots of potential for several options...did society do it on purpose as a test, like they said they did? But Society lies, so to me that sounds like a flimsy excuse to cover up a mistake that they missed and don't want to admit. As for Ky putting his name on the list, even though he said that he's been in love with Cassia for a long time, I have a hard time believing that he did it himself...if he wants to get out of Society because he's an Aberration, why would he draw extra attention to himself by messing with the Matching.
I also have a hard time seeing that Xander did it...why would be want Cassia to be matched with an Aberration...because didn't they say that Xander knew Ky was an Aberration?
I think there's potential in Cassia's grandfather, via Cassia's father as an extension of The Rising. Maybe it was part of her grandfather sending her on some journey because he knew how bad Society is.
That's my guess...
I found the quote about Ky putting his own picture in..."I feel the way I did before the Match Banquet. Waiting. Wondering if what I'd done would be enough for her to see me again." (p. 226)

Nope nope, most of you are wrong. At the end of book 3, Cassia discovers SHE put Ky's name into the matching pool. re-read the last book if you didn't find that. (it clearly says it!!)
i was just about to say that in book 3 you find out what happened. we learn quite a bit about what's really going on in society and what it was that Cassia did as a sorter to know why things happened when they did.throughout the series we hear that cassia has been asked to sort people (we see that in matched even when Ky is sent to the outer province) so it's not surprising to hear that it was Cassia who sorted him INTO the pool
