Liz Rorie | 6 comments I have decided to start a twitter protest or sit in or something and it probably wont do a thing... but what if it did! I am going to read the whole saga over and over agin until Mrs. Meyers finishes Midnight Sun and promises to give us a fifth book and I would like as many people to support this idea as possible!!!! If you do tweet me here- @ILUVBooks4ever and say what you will do until she finishes and writes a new one!!

... yep obsessiveness... *goes back to reading the vampire lestat*

That would be forcing her to do something she doesn't want to do. Nobody should be told what to do. If someone made petition forcing me to leave GoodReads, I would be pissed. If I were Stephenie It'd probably only make me steer away from writing books.

Tiffany (lovn_mr_darcy) | 46 comments Yep...and when somebody posted midnight sun she stopped writing...i think shes a bit temperamental

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

I think she's tempermental, too. It's as if she's the only author whose stories have ever been leaked.

Tiffany (lovn_mr_darcy) | 46 comments I know right....i think she got stuck up over the whole zero to hero thing..she got popular overnight

litterally, i think, lol

Whoa! Chill out honey, take a deep breath and it will all be okay- I am not trying to force anyone to do anything, you took it completely out of context. I was meaning to show support and to show how much I love her books and hopefully all of us dedicated readers would inspire her to finish. I don't know if you have ever actually visited her site but she has said that if she ever wrote a fifth book it probably wouldn't be from Bella or Edwards perspective, so I am not shoving the idea down her throat. It is a superficial attempt to show her how awesome the books are that's all so simmer down honey simmer down!

I have to agree she is temperamental! I mean if you don't want your book to get leaked- DON'T hand out seven copies! She needs to shadow J.K. Rowling- I have never heard of any temper tantrums that she threw where she decided to stop writing because spoilers got leaked, and they were leaked all the time! I also never saw where the so called Midnight Sun copy was leaked and neither did any of my friends, and believe me one of us would have found it! We think maybe she lost her mind for a minute or had too much pressure from the publishers or something but to post it on her website like that was something a 4 year old would do. She needs to get over it and deflate the ego just a bit and finish the book because umm hello if we didn't love it so much we wouldn't be so sad that we don't have more!!

Haha, your right (about the ego thing).

message 62: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff She kinda IS writing a 5th book - it just doesn't continue the series. DHN is the fifth Twilight series book, although I do wish that she would do another one continuing the series, but she probably still feels very violated from privacy. No one really even knows if she is going to finish DHN yet. I can understand that. Just close your eyes and imagine - You have spent months, hours every single day for maybe even years to write something that you think is going to be huge. You know everyone is going to love it, but the key is to keep it a surprise. Then you give a copy of whatever it is to your BEST friend, because she wants to help. You want her to edit it and give it back to you in the morning.(This can also go for guys too, I'm just giving a girls perspective). Instead, you wake up in the morning and get on your computer to do whatever it is that you do in the morning, and your draft that you HAD to keep secret, that you spent so much precious time on, is on the internet illegally and MILLIONS of people have already read it! How would you feel?

message 63: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ummm, yeah, I'd feel violated too. And what does DHN stand for?

I see your point and I agree with what you are saying, I too would feel violated but at the same time she should understand that in the line of work she is in, especially after all of the attention Twilight got, that these types of things will happen. It sucks that they happen but the do and however unfair, it is how she handles the situation and she basically threw a temper tantrum. She is not the only author ever in the history of time to go through this and she needs to chill and get over it, I mean she should understand that we are still begging her to write it because we love and crave the books so much. If I had that kind of reaction it would be inspiration enough for me and I would get over my little tantrum and keep truckin!

I'm fine. It's just that I've heard of all these petitions all over the place. Stephenie herself seems to really hate them. They don't seem to be doing anything for her. Like I've said before, she's a total diva.

I agree that she is having a temper tantrum. It reminds me of Bella and her moodswings. The Twilight apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Stephenie also reminds me of all those diva painters that won't sell to certain people, and are like "Don't push me. Art doesn't come so easily!" You know what I mean?

You said your friends would have found Midnight Sun? Hmm, that brings a whole new perspective. She got bored so she stopped it all... Interesting.

I would cry a little, and move on with my life. I would realize that this has happened to tons of authors. I would take a break, a little vacation. I would come back, and live my life. I would wait a while before continuing but I would not write a letter to my fans post-poning it indefinitly. I would wait a while, but I would eventually get back on the saddle.

Tiffany wrote: "DHN?"

Dark High Noon. It's another name for Midnight Sun.

message 67: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (lovn_mr_darcy) | 46 comments Oh...why does it have two names?

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

Because Stephenie Meyer said she will only write Midnight Sun, two years after she stops hearing about it. So the Twilight Lexicon decided it should have a code name, so we can talk about it without Meyer figuring it out. The code name is DHN/Dark High Noon.

message 69: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (lovn_mr_darcy) | 46 comments oh...dont you think she'll figure it out? maybe she wont though..idk

I had such a problem reading Sookie Stackhouse...I kept thinking she was ripping Meyer off especially with how closely Quinn is described to Jacob Black!

message 84: by Becky (new)

Becky Thomas (beckythomas) | 12 comments I really would love a fifth book in the series, and it could be done...but i would really love her to complete Midnight Sun. i love reading it from Edward's perspective it gives the whole saga a new edge. i would love to know what Edward was doing in New Moon while he was away, and read of his suffereing two sides to the story.

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, that was interesting. But she was never going to make New Moon. "Too many emotions" she said, for her to deal with. I guess we'll have to settle for fanfiction. :/

message 89: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (twilighter_fanpire_hpfan) i kno im reading Midnight Sun for the second time and i want more. She cant just leave us hanging after they have already released 11 chapters of the book.

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Is Stephenie going to publish Midnight Sun?, i read 12 Chapters and really want to read the rest.

message 91: by Amira (new)

Amira (liightningbolt) I think the original poster is mental... pretending to play with characters??

Anyways, I don't think she should write the books from Edward's perspective (as someone else said), as only Twilight is the book we see less of Edward's thinking/actions, perhaps New Moon to some extent. However, for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, there definitely isn't a need to tell the story from Edward's view.

Although, it would be nice if Meyer went back to the series in a couple of years time to tell us all how Renesmee and Jacob are doing.

message 92: by Farah (new)

Farah Ali (vampire_lover55) | 41 comments lol that wud be great but i kinda wanna no how edward and bella are going too i mean their story is sooo very interesting and i mean i wanna see how belle lives her vampire life

Amira wrote: "for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, there definitely isn't a need to tell the story from Edward's view."

I agree, Twilight was one of the more pivotal books. Edward's personal development there and slightly into New Moon, seem more extensive than the others.

Fallen wrote: "ITS GONNA BE CALLED MIDNIGHT SUN."

Yes, she was working on Midnight Sun as a personal writing that may or may not have been intended for publication, but then the first 12 chapters (all of what she had written so far) was leaked out onto the Internet. She then decided to take a vacation from it last year, and hasn't been able to get back to writing it since. There are no plans to finish it, let alone release it, as of this time.
