The book was awesome. Many plot twists and the book wasn't very predictable. Cassandra Clare kept the sarcasm in her book, but stopped having her characters be super shallow. A new layer was added to the characters, and the truly grew in this book.

HSLFP | 45 comments Is this book mostly about Jem and Tessa? I really hope to read more of Will too ;)

message 27: by nine (new) - rated it 5 stars

nine | 22 comments well it has more Jem/tessa moments. but you get to know more about will's past. so that's the good part.

HSLFP | 45 comments nine wrote: "well it has more Jem/tessa moments. but you get to know more about will's past. so that's the good part."

Thanks! Who do you like better Jem/ Tessa or Will/Tessa?

Morning Star (imdafemaleneo) | 107 comments I like jem! I like will also, but the one that shines brightest always hurts u an makes u hate him even though he still shines. Jems etter!!

message 30: by nine (new) - rated it 5 stars

nine | 22 comments hmmm its a hard pick. I feel.like Jem deserves tessa more right now because will was kinds being a jerk but in the end I'm going for will/tessa.

Sofie (soffigof) | 17 comments A question for the book. I'm currently reading it, p.170, and I don't understand the whole warlock thing. Magnus thinks about his mom and dad, when he is with Will in his house. But we know that warlocks can't have children, so how does that makes sense? And where do warlocks come from?

Warlocks are off springs of humans and demons, as it's mentioned in TMI and CA. Magnus has a mother and a step father, his real father is a demon. His mother kills herself after realizing she's given birth to a monster, and his step father tries to kill Magnus, so when trying to save himself Magnus kills his step father in the process.

Sofie (soffigof) | 17 comments Ah okay, thank you very much :).

Wow... I thought I had family drama. ; )

Daylighter (pantea13) “Tess, Tess, Tessa.

Was there ever a more beautiful sound than your name? To speak it aloud makes my heart ring like a bell. Strange to imagine that, isn’t it – a heart ringing – but when you touch me that is what it is like: as if my heart is ringing in my chest and the sound shivers down my veins and splinters my bones with joy.

Why have I written these words in this book? Because of you. You taught me to love this book where I had scorned it. When I read it for the second time, with an open mind and heart, I felt the most complete despair and envy of Sydney Carton. Yes, Sydney, for even if he had no hope that the woman he loved would love him, at least he could tell her of his love. At least he could do something to prove his passion, even if that thing was to die.

I would have chosen death for a chance to tell you the truth, Tessa, if I could have been assured that death would be my own. And that is why I envied Sydney, for he was free.

And now at last I am free, and I can finally tell you, without fear of danger to you, all that I feel in my heart.

You are not the last dream of my soul.

You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth.

With hope at least,
Will Herondale”
