Annie (angelannie) How do I make my books lendable?

Matthew (swint) You can't make your books lendable. Some of the books you buy or get for free from Barnes & Noble are lendable. You'll know they are lendable if they have a ribbon around the top right corner of the book thumbnail that says Lend Me!. It's up to Barnes & Noble and the book publishers to mark which books are lendable or not.

Annie (angelannie) oh well crap! ok thanks for letting me know!

Matthew (swint) No problem. That's one of the few problems I have with ebooks, you can't share them unless they let you.

Annie (angelannie) hm that does suck - I sell the Nooks at Books a Million, and that is one thing we were never told. Crap.

Dorie (dorieann) I love Books a Million! There's one in Beavercreek, Ohio I go to. It's quite the drive for me so I only get there a couple times a year, but it's always worth it.

Regarding lending, publishers are the ones who decide if a book can be lendable, and unfortunately most of the big publishers took the option away after Amazon introduced the feature for their Kindle. (Of course, it doesn't stop people from sharing ebooks, it just stops them from sharing them legitimately.)
