Lothaire: Anyone Read it?

Has anyone read this book? I read the sample (on my Kindle) and Lothaire seems really dark & twisted (which I know was because of his mother's death & father's abuse). Just wanted an honest, real opinion since I'm considering adding it to my "to-read" list.

This book doesn't officially come out until next month (Jan 10th). Have you read the previous books in the series? If not, I highly recommend it. Its one of my favorites, and I can't wait to read Lothaire's book. He's one of the bad guys, but I'm expecting a twist.

I know Julie--I'm 2 behind too. But I just have ssooo many books in my tbr pile(s). Has anyone else noticed that Lothaire is an albino? Which means that he has a chance for his eyes looking red from birth. So is it possible that he hasn't been drinking victims to their deaths???? Or maybe that's covered in the 2 books that I haven't read yet. Sigh, I have GOT to get some time blocked out to just READ.

Wow... Just finished Lothaire! I have been reading non stop since yesterday. I had to pry myself away so I can go to sleep last night. I have to say this was one of Kresley Cole's best written books. Anyone else read the book? I would love to talk about it!! :)

My copy just arrived in the mail about 2 hours ago! Can't wait to get started reading it. Wish I wasn't in the middle of another really great book or I'd pick it up right now :) That's great to hear Ashley!

I read it (non-stop except for work, even while I was plodding away on thye treadmill!) and I really liked it. Not a light book, but I agree with Ashley that it was one of the best written IADs. In fact, it might have gone passed A Hunger Like No Other as my fave in the series.I don't want to post spoilers since a lot of people are either reading it now or will read it. But I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Lothaire treats Elizabeth rather badly for a long time. But the author does a great job showing how he changes tiny little bit by tiny little bit over the course of the book.

I just have to say that, Lothaire, the hero? Nope. He isn't a hero in this book. He's still evil, just with a Bride to consider now. There are a few changes to him but overall he is still badass Lothaire the Enemy of Old. Which I love!

Sometimes authors change their characters personalities so drastically that it throws me off of liking them. But Cole, for the most part, kept Lothaire in all his red eye glory! :-)

I completely agree! KC did an amazing job of portraying Leo ;) as a evil mean son of gun but you honestly couldn't help but like him, understand his ways, and forgive him. I absolutely enjoyed Ellie's will power and her confidence. She really showed what it was like to fight for Who we r.

I loved the book and gave it 4.5*s. Don't want to go into it too much here because I'll get into spoilers. Ellie was a great heroine--funny and strong. KC made Lothaire sympathetic without straying too far from being The Enemy of Old. A real balancing act and a great book!

Finished last night and loved it :). The entire series is amazing but this one is incredibly well written, the plot, the characters, the tie-ins from the past, everything. And u learn so interesting new things, which is always great ;)
Can't wait for the next one, cuz I wanna see how our Lothaire is with a bride... And how the good guys react to him now.
Oh yeah and to read about the other couple lol.

Ellie was one of the better heroines I've read. Lothaire was friggin' funny...evil as heck, but funny.

I finished this book over the weekend and I have to agree, this was one of KC's best in the IAD series. I'm fairly addicted to all the characters, but Lothaire's bad-ass-iness made him one of my faves throughout. In the beginning I kept hearing Ellie's voice in my head and it was a tad annoying, but once I got past the first few chapters, that twang made me connect with her. I also loved seeing Lothaire's relationship with Nix and how she feels...a little sad! And the epilogue? Seriously I need to know what happens next!

Ooohh, read it twice! Back-to-back :D KC completely set a new marker for her IAD series and segued very, very smoothly into her new upcoming Dacian series. Lothaire is true to character, horribly/wonderfully evil & surly. Ellie is a perfect match for him! Completely BRAVE, intelligent and strong enough to not only manage him but ... MAN.AGE him, lol. The absolute best paranormal I've read in ages.

I haved loved this whole series. I tried to read it slowly,but I just couldnt put it down. I would suggest reading the other books in the series first. Its not necessary, but I think you get a better understanding of the character and the back story of the things he has gone through with the other main characters of her books. It just makes it all the better. cant wait for the next book in IAD, but didnt hear about the spin off series, excited for that now too!! Thanks for that tip.

Nix plays a HUGE role in Lothaire's book and the tantalizing little bit of a cliffhanger at the end (not a badie, just one that incites curiosity) assures us that she will continue to be on lots of minds in the next IAD book ... or perhaps even in the new and upcoming Dacia series!

I really, really enjoyed this book. I thought KC did an excellent job "humanizing" someone we've considered irredeemably evil for 11 books, without making him a love-sick sap. Do he and Ellie get their HEA? Yes. Is it believable, with what we know about both their personalities and histories? Also yes. Plus, the supporting characters (Nix! Regin!) are fabulous.

Also, am I the only one that didn't see the long game KC has been playing since at least A Hunger Like No Other? The cliffhanger at the end of Lothaire made me go O_o, until I really thought about it. Then it was more of a "Duh!" moment!

ETA: Anyone have any ideas who Nix's HEA is? I wonder if we've already met him, or if he'll be introduced just for her book.

Loved the book. Lothaire was delicious and Ellie totally gave it to him. I was a little disappointed in the ending as I felt their HEA fell a little flat after so much build up. That being said, it's a thoroughly enjoyable book even if it's read as a stand alone.

I especially loved the heart to heart with Nix. I thought it was nice to see a little weariness of two eternal beings.

I think Nix HEA may be Lothaire's brother. Just popped in my head.

I think "the game" Kari meant the identity of Lothaire's brother.

I think Nïx needs a sane/emotionally healthy guy for her, but not sure that even exists in the Lore... Will be fun to see if she'll foresee anything from her own HEA, or not, if that will actually interfere in her story...

BTW, LOVED Lothaire book, and love this vampire as well. My favorite character from this series. Would really like to watch more from him in the future, now that he has changed somehow.

Lothaire was great. Maybe the best IAD. This book had a ton of humor and Ellie was a great match for him. I really enjoyed the relationship between Lothaire and Nix in this book. I'm still hoping Nix's HEA is Mike Rowe. He's a real renaissance man.

I loved this book. Ellie's accent was refreshingly different. I don't think I've read a romance with a hillbilly heroine.
