Sandra Almazan | 2 comments Hi Everyone! I'm Sandra. For 2012 I'm challenging myself to read 120 books. My favorite genres are SF and fantasy, but I do branch out from time to time.

I'm Kristin and I did the 104 books in 2011 challenge. I'm going to finish in the low 90s, which isn't bad considering that I'm a full time student and mom of 3, plus I did nanowrimo this year, so there went November. :) I love reading and am setting 104 as my goal for this year too (2 per week). I have a b&w NOOK reader that I love and listen to audiobooks a lot because I have a long commute to school.

Good luck everyone!

Good Grief Kristin!! You did nanowrimo too!!! That is sooo awesome! One of my fave Authors was talking about how he almost finished it.

Keiva (scarecrow80) | 5 comments Hello!! My name is Keiva, I found this group through my friend Kristin. Thank you Kristin. I challenged myself to 40 books in 2011 and read 44 and 1/2 so this year I challenged myself to 65 books. I love fiction, mostly techno thrillers, and scifi. Lately I have been reading a lot of Zombie books and don't know how the world I stumbled on to that.

message 5: by Christopher (new)

Christopher Conn (cmconn) Hi, I'm Chris. My goal is to read 30 books this year. I'm just starting to read fiction again, have been reading mostly non-fiction. The best books I read in 2011 were the first 2 books of Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles (The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear).

message 6: by Genevieve (new)

Genevieve Petrillo | 2 comments Hi. My name is Genevieve Petrillo. I'm the author of the picture book entitled Keep Your Ear on the Ball (Tilbury 2007). I plan to read 212 picture books this year. I'm going to look at all the pictures too! :)

Hello, my name is Wesley. This year I read my goal of 100 books, which I honestly would have never thought possible. I've read more books in the last 2 years than I have in the previous 15. This, this is a good thing. I like all genres, formats and authors. I'm not picky at all as long that I'm glad I read that book when I'm finished.

Yes I did Keiva- it was a blast! You should join me next year. :)

Hey yall! I'm Ashley and have only been on this website for over a week or so. I absolutely love reading. I am currently signed up for a few challenges. I read across the board but mostly in a few different genres. I am trying for 100 in 2012. Lets see how it goes!

message 11: by Haydensdad (new)

Haydensdad Hello everyone my name is Greg aka haydensdad. Lofty goal(for me anyway) of 100 books this year. Good luck to everyone with their challenges. Happy new year.

Thanks glad to be here.

message 13: by Ben (new)

Ben Hello everyone. My name is Ben and I'm looking to read 52 books this year, book a week. Sometimes I have slow weeks and some weeks I'm really motivated. We'll see what this year brings. Good luck everyone!

message 14: by Shaz (new)

Shaz (zabooksihaveread) | 1 comments Hello everyone. I'm Shaz and just completed my challenge last year of reading 125 books so I am aiming for 125 books again this year. Look forward to reading lots of great books this year.

message 15: by Christopher (new)

Christopher Conn (cmconn) I have a new (physical) shelf of backlog books that I'm going to be working on in 2012. I've had some of these books for a decade or longer and I haven't bought any new books because I've had all those backlog books to catch up on. This year I'll get caught up. Happy new year everybody.

message 16: by Ally (new)

Ally (allonsyallyson) | 2 comments My name is Allyson! I'm 21 and am addicted to both autobiographies and YA. I for some reason went with the challenge of reading 366 books this year, basically a book a day.

message 17: by Lexhyn (new)

Lexhyn (phbtonyou) Hallo, my name is Xi. I'm 24, and I'm a lover of fiction books, particularly fantasy and sci-fi. I only made a challenge of 25 books this year, but that's a big goal for me, since I tend to read slow, and the books I read this past year were quite thick. I made a very small goal last year of about 6, but I got 8 done, so go me. C: Hopefully my resolution from last year will hold strong this year by reading a little bit each night before I go to bed.
Because work is getting tired of me reading while on the clock, loool.

message 18: by Angel (new)

Angel Happy New Year Everyone. My name is Angel. I found goodreads in May last year and love it.

I raised my Reading Challenge goal this year to 105 which will be tough to reach with my schedule, however, that's why it's a challenge. Right?

I read (and listen) many types of books and am always open to new books to read. Happy reading and I look forward to reading with my new found group.

Kristin, I understand having a busy schedule. I made my goal this year 105, focusing to read 2 books a week. I too am a mom that commutes to my desk job and listens to audiobooks and at lunch use my Nook. I have one child left at home that is very busy in school and his community, plus I run two home based businesses. I will be happy to part of your cheering section to cheer you on to reach your goal!

message 21: by Rachael (new)

Rachael | 2 comments Hi, I just learned about this group. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I love to read. This goal of 200 books will help me read more! :-)

message 22: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1 comments Hi I'm Rachel! This is my first time doing this challenge so I'm excited. I haven't been reading as much as I'd like these last few years and it just makes me feel...off. I decided to go in slow with my goal of 30 books. Happy reading everyone! :)

message 23: by Dar (new)

Dar | 4 comments Hello, Dar here. Love to read but working two jobs makes it hard. In spite of that, I'm trying to read more. I was going to join a "100 books in 2012" group but realize I'd be setting myself up for failure. I'm going to shoot for 50 and hope for the best.

message 24: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) Hi, I'm Ellie and I just joined the group. I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I absolutely love reading and writing. I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and making new friends :)

message 25: by Aibee Brews (new)

Aibee Brews Hullo! I am Isobel and currently based in a Middle East country. I am challenging myself to at least finish 24 books before 2012 comes to a close. I know it is quite a low count but I really want to track my progress. Ever since I became a stay-at-home mom, reading has taken a backseat. Now, I wanna change that. After all, my little boy is already 4 years old. :)

Hope to make some friends, too and of course, great book recommendations!
