Ida I just finished reading this book and I was amazed! Not only is the books universe so great and different, but I love the characters too. It's true that you don't get a lot of details, but the best way to get to learn a character to know is to see how they react under pressure. And this book is filled with pressure. I love how it is so hard to love any of this characters. Jacob is kind of selfish, annoying and then he sleeps with everyone. Will is weak and he is anything but reckless. Clara is just an annoying girl with love on her mind. Fox is jealous and she gives up on Will without thinking about it. But then again, don't we all have flaws? Jacob does the right thing in the end and put his brother over himself, Will... (well him you don't really get to know because he acts different than he use to in this book), Clara finds her inner strength and Fox learns how it feels to let yourself feel. This is what makes this book so realistic! This is what takes it from great to amazing! And I have this weakness which probably makes me like this book even more: Fox. I've never read about a more kickass girl. She is great, really. Well the short story: I am in love with this book. The end.

Well I haven't read the Inkheart series, but I've read a ton other books and this is my favorite at the time... But I guess it is hard to compare cause no book is the same. I've heard that the writing style is kinda the same, but I don't know. Can you recommend the Inkheart series?

Sandy I have read both series and I recommend both, the writing style is the same but I think Reckless is aimed at a slightly older audience then Inkheart but probably the same age group as Inkspell and Inkdeath.

Amen to that!
