I'm the author of 26 books. 10 of those books are photography books. I show my work. The other books are just literature. I write for the joy of writing. I self publish my work, because it's easier for me to share my work with the world. I don't go through other companies if I did I would be rejected and all of my thoughts would never be shared. I have been through a lot of changes throughout my life and I have shared those stories in my books. I also have other topics on fitness and how to keep yourself motivated. I have a few fictions out. I'm proud of those, but reviews really make a stamp out of them. I thought let me write some books and maybe people will read them. I never thought let me write some books, because I want people to step all over them and say what a junk. I'm one of the authors that just writes to tell a story. I don't think of how it will look to others, because I'm the one that is telling the stories. I'm the creator of the stories. I don't think there is anything selfish about thinking this way being that the thoughts come from the inside of my mind. It's very funny how some people actually think you're asking for their reviews. They just go read your books don't even pay for it and then add a review like it's important to readers worldwide. I thought that if anyone reads a book it's because they want to and not, because a reviewers states don't buy this and don't buy that. I think anyone should purchase any book they want to read. When people go to see a movie and they don't like it they can't get their money back. This is what story tellers do we tell stories whether people don't like it or they are mesmerized with it. Thanks for letting me share my experience with being an author.

I've done it, even though I've never been published. My preference is fantasy, but sometimes I go out of my comfort zone, like with my story, ABUSED.

I'm heading towards the webnovel route. It's like webcomics, but it's written prose instead of four panel drawings. Maybe I find publishing my chapters online safer and easier for me, not so comfortable publishing my stories for real on paper.
It's not really new in terms of time but the market is growing.

Well that's good if the market is growing. Find your niche and pave your way is my motto! (Or at least one I go by.)

Good-going! You sound like you really know what you're talking about. I like the way you're not giving up on it. I hardly ever read manga, but it'd be interesting to see your final accomplishment of yours. :)

I HAVE ADVICE!!!
Okay, so I can't remember if I learnt this in school or I figured it out myself but fighting scenes are all about short sentences.
Short sentences and short but MEANINGFUL descriptions.
Also, as a writer, you need to have a good idea of the space your characters are fighting in and how you can move them around the room through your words.
To create tension and energy in writing, short sentences are often best because they increase the pace at which a reader...well, reads.
Hope this helps!

Does anyone else have any tips for editing?

That's the spirit, Coolio! :D
At least give it your best shot, eh? I know that my sister likes to create characters (and she draws awesome!) and attempted to write a book, once. It started off really good, but then her job got in the way, so she might have dropped it by now.
Perseverance is the key, though, here. It might take a few years, but it'll be awesome when it's finally completed if you stick to it! :)

Well, it's all part of the learning curve, I guess. Besides, at least you know for sure you're an awesome journalist.
You'll probably get around to the checking and editing, someday! :)
