Alice | 74 comments I finished A Court of Betrayal A Court of Betrayal by Anne O'Brien by Anne O'Brien. Set in 1300's Ireland, Wales and England. Typical of the times. Lots of marrying off daughters, warring with monarchy, sending women to convents. Dragged on bit. but written well.

Michelle (michellehartline) | 237 comments Neither ancient nor medieval history, but I'm reading M*A*S*H: A Novel About Three Army Doctors. I've wanted to read it for years because I loved that show. I was sad to hear of the passing of Loretta Swit recently.

Every so often, a historical romance comes along that doesn’t just tell a love story, it immerses you in a world of elegance, secrets, and dangerous passions.

Masque of Deceptions by Stella Riley has already captured the hearts of readers worldwide, earning both the Book Readers’ Appreciation Group (BRAG) Medallion and the Global Book Award Gold Medal.

Set against a richly-detailed historical backdrop, it’s a tale of romance entwined with deception, where the wrong whisper can ruin lives and the right secret can save them. The characters feel so vivid you’ll want to follow them beyond the last page, and the mix of historical accuracy with emotional depth makes this a truly unforgettable read.

If you enjoy love stories set in times of elegance, danger, and societal intrigue, you’ll want to add Masque of Deceptions to your list.
