I have quite a few GR friends who think highly of Orlando. Don't think its something I'll ever get to though. Too many books to read first. :)

I'm starting Silk Road as my group read I missed. Also reading Queen's Bounty. Unfortunately, I'm starting to get bored with this series. I will see how this book goes before deciding if I really want to read the last two. Who am I kidding? I'll finish the last two.
Still working on my arc of The Marriage Game: A Novel of Queen Elizabeth I. This is not Weir's best work by a long shot.
I liked her novels less and less as each one has came out, but that's just me :)I finished the NF Forgotten Fifteenth: The Daring Airmen Who Crippled Hitler's War Machine - good read for WW II buffs and just started David Poyer's latest Dan Lenson novel
It's not HF, but he has written a pretty good trilogy on the American Civil War navies (both North and South)
happy wrote: "I liked her novels less and less as each one has came out, but that's just me :)Yes. I'm finding she's rapidly turning into another PG. She's starting to completely ignore the history and just picking the most outrageous rumors of the time. I'm finding even her NF is taking a turn. She fills a lot of NF with the words "In my opinion" or "Some people believe" and not a lot of evidence to support her opinions and other people's beliefs.
I'm working on finishing up my fourth Cornwell book of the year: (Death of Kings). Does anyone happen to know how many books Cornwell is planning to write for this series?
We don't know and we're not sure the author has actually decided either. On his last Q&A this was his response "How many more Uhtreds? Don't know. Maybe 6? Maybe 8? Maybe 4? Somewhere in there"
I´ve startet
yesterday. There was a paragraph about a dead dolphin, and his mate, visiting the places the dead dolphin loved and sing for her.
I had a ugly crying fit ... because of a freaking dolphin. Damn I must keep in mind, that the great losses of the Troyan War still lie ahead of me.
;_;

I don't even see how there could be that many books left. He's already 40 or so? by the end of book 6. Too much time passed in books 4 and 5, IMO.
* edit--just finished number 6. It says Uhtred is 45! at the end of the book.

Sounds sad to me! Don't want Dolphins to die. :[
Decisions, decisions - Mrs. Happy brought both Cornwell's
The Empty Throne and Jeck's
Fields of Gloryhome from the library today :)
Wisp of a Thing: A Novel of the Tufa by Alex Bledsoe.Attracted to it by the "new books" section in the library.
About to start
Germanicus & hope to be able to keep up with the "whodunnit" this time, first outing I really had no idea what was occurring for the most part.... not unusual some might say.....

Well, Andy, some of your statements or opinions on here make me smile, much as some of Corvinus's. :)
I finished Katherine by Anya Seton last night and reviewed on Goodreads. I am searching around for something good to read at the present time.
A Day of Fire: a novel of Pompeii by several authors, Ben Kane being one of them. I like the read thus far.
I'm working my way towards the end of the Ursula Blanchard series with A Rescue for a Queen. I don't know if I'm getting through this series. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but at this point I have no desire to get there. With all of the waiting room sitting, I've managed to finish Rubicon and The Marriage Game: A Novel of Queen Elizabeth I. One was excellent. One was not.
I'm about on page 135 and so far it has had it's moments, but overall about in the middle rating wise
1066: What Fates Impose....WULFSUNA....OutcastsOne tree book for night time reading....one pdf arc for laptop reading....one Kindle for reading at work....both 1066 and Wulfsuna are author requests for read/review....in my spare time I continue to write my own series :-)
I startet yesterday. I like it so far. finished:
seriously? What a blaaaaaaaaaaah ... I wanted to ram my fist through my Kindle right in Scarlets dump-crybaby-face. Whoa. I`m still aggressive! And mean about it!

I think I'm starting to become slightly jaded where Tudor fiction is concerned.
I am currently reading The Empty Throne. Also I just started reading Andrew Robert's new biography on Napoleon.
I had a coupon for a nook purchase and it is one that I have wanted to read. Since it is on my nook, I'll be reading it catch as catch can.
I need a break from the three different book series I'm reading right now. I have had Girl With a Pearl Earring sitting on a shelf forever now. It looks short and sweet. One of my New Year's goals is to get through some of the books I own but have never read.
