Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I noticed that there is an older topic about summer reading. Apparently bookshops have signs on books with 'summer reading'. I was wondering if they do that also for winter and who of you have winter reading goals?

Atishay | 1451 comments I was wondering the same thing Jeane ! I've a winter reading goal of finishing off Rebecca, The Thirteenth Tale and Twilight series(if i get them).

Leila (justsortofreading) Jeane, this made me long so much for winter when it's snowing, and you can curl up in a comfy chair or in the bed with some hot drinks and read, without being worried or stressed about school work and all that :)

In the stores, I haven't yet seen "winter reading" signs but I have seen christmas reading. I know they also had "autumn reading" but that was more subtle in which a bookchain had a sign with "Find a friend in the dark rainy autumn" or something like that and then the tables were stacked with books and tea. It was very appealing though, I have got to say :D

I don't know for sure what my goal is. I guess my goal is to just read and read. I miss it and I have so many books on my to-read list that I just can't wait to read. One that is definitely on the list is The Book Thief. I've wanted to read it ever since it was a group read here but it never happened (couldn't find the book, didn't have time to read once I got it and then had to return it and etc). If I don't manage to read ELIC this month then that one is definitely next as well :)

Allison i haven't seen specific winter reading suggestions either.
my only goal is to be able to spend full days just sitting on the couch reading a book. with school i don't have the chance to do that, and am really looking forward to it.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Leila, it sounds so nice the "Find a friend in the dark rainy autumn" and the books and tea around!!!!

have never seen signs with autumn reading either...

For the moment I don't have a winter readig goal, but when I have moved to Dublin this month, I will start making my goals again. Already looked up where the nearest library will be and there are many places to buy books too!!!

Abigail (42stitches) | 360 comments I don't really choose my books anymore. I pick up whatever books all my GR book clubs are reading. It's been more than enough lately when each of the 3 clubs has at least 1 but usually 2 or more books. Plus whatever DearReader books I find I like. I never had certain books that I would read by season myself. At least not that I can recall.

Maria (minks05) | 481 comments i haven't seen anything dedicated specifically to "winter " reading, but the "holiday gift" stuff is out in full force. ( i hate living near a mall)

i don't have any set goals for reading this winter, other than to make sure i try and keep some time for it these next 7 week sor so! i'm getting near to baking season, and i just spent an hour making cookie dough, when i could have been reading!!!

I don't really recall ever seeing any signs that say winter reading. I like to bulk up on the reading in the winter since there isn't much to do outside
