Katia was unsure she would be able to do it, but she decided she was going to try. She wasn't going to cling onto Kal while he did all the climbing. "Okay," she whispered firmly. "Let's go."

Kal admired the firmness in her voice. Despite himself, he was scared shitless. No. Be brave for her. He sighed. "Well, lead the way, hero." He whispered to Dain.Dain huffed, putting the knife's blade in his mouth that he was holding, ready to gut someone if needed. He slowly crept over to the farthest he dared to go, away from the guards. His foot latched onto a piece of stone that jutted out from the wall, and started climbing as best as he could.
((Why didn't you? o_O))Katia waited until Kal had started to climb, and she stayed not far from him. She was very wobbly as she placed her foot on one stone, and she clung onto the wall for dear life, but luckily there were lots of stones jutting out of the walls here, and the climbing wasn't exactly as hard or life-threatening as she thought.
((It just wasn't appropriate at the time. <_<))Once Dain was sitting on the top of the wall's ledge, Kal hoisted himself up to sit next to him. He peered down and watched Katia carefully, making sure if she needed him or if she missed a stone, he'd see it and jump down with her to catch her. "Almost there," he said softly.
The stones above got harder and harder to grasp. As she almost reached the top, she lost her balance and slipped, her arms reaching out at the air and her mouth open in a silent scream.
Kal reached out and took hold of her hand right before she slipped. His heart beating in his throat, he desperately dragged her over the ledge as fast as he could. Dain grasped her other hand, giving them the extra boost to hoist her over.
Katia pushed upwards with all her might, and strong arms held her tightly so she wouldn't fall. At first she thought it was Kal, but these arms felt...bigger. She looked up right into Dain's eyes and froze, before getting off of him. "Thank you," she said softly as she practically sprinted over to Kal, her face flushed.
Dain stood there, watching her run to Kal, and throwing her arms around him. He scoffed rudely, his eyes rolling in the process. "Let's go," he whispered. He darted off into the direction of another door, as of now not caring if they followed or not. He quietly opened the wooden door, it leading to a corridor with a high ceiling about thirty-feel up.
She clung to Kal the whole way, her gaze wandering around the impressive, icy interior of the castle. The hallway was long, and there were countless doors on either side.
They sidestepped any winter guards as they marched by, their swords clinging and clanging to their belts and armor. Dain slowly crept up on the door up front, the had to lead to the throne room. It was bigger than all the rest, and it had crystal knobs. Once they were right in front of it, Dain looked back with a blank expression. "Ready?"
((You gonna be Arvelia?))Katia could not steady her racing heart, no matter how hard she tried. The cold crept into her, prickling her insides, but a part of her somehow...enjoyed the cold. She refused to believe it though, and with one last gulp and deep breath, she nodded at Dain slowly.
((Yeah.))Arvelia was sitting in the throne room, looking at her servants as they chattered away about how they thought her barrier was breached. "How?" She almost shrieked, automatic ice lacing her voice. The guard only shrugged and said he didn't know, which made her even more angry. She sighed and pressed her forehead into the palm of her hand. Seven hells...
Dain placed both hands on the doors, and pushed then open. The invisibility shield around them evaporated almost instantly, causing a tingle to run through the three. When Dain looked up, he froze instantly. The sight of Arvelia, snapping her head up with ice cold eyes made his heart freeze over.
Arvelia couldn't believe the sight before her: Three fae stood in front of her. And one of them was... "Dain," she whispered shockingly. And she could tell he heard it, because he flinched. What in God's name... She thought, but it cut off as her eyes drifted to the girl, with her violet eyes. As if her eyes could widen anymore, they did. "No..."
Katia couldn't believe the sight of the faerie in front of her several feet away. As soon as they locked their too familiar eyes, she felt something stir inside her. She had seen those eyes before, looking down at her once...yet the vision was barely there, as if it had happened years and years ago. She'd lost the ability to move, breathe, function. This is....my mother?
Arvelia couldn't speak, her words were lodged into her throat. Her eyes were glued to the girl that had her exact eyes. The sight of her almost made tears fall, but she pushed them back, determined not to break in front of her kingdom. "What is the meaning of this intrusion?" Her voice boomed.Dain unfroze himself from the spot he was standing it as the queen's voice brought him back to reality. He swiveled around to face Katia with a cold look. "Well, we found her. Happy?" He turned around before she could say anything, a scoff etched on his face.
Kal couldn't believe what he was seeing; looking at Katia and her mother made him go into shock. The resemblance was extremely startling. He couldn't stop staring at Katia's mother. Her eyes were violet, like her daughter's. But they held an icy-blue hue to them. It was eerie.
Katia was trembling like crazy by now, her eyes staring deeply into her mother's familiar yet colder ones. She then tore her gaze away and then looked at Kal, worry and fear making her eyes blur with tears. "I can't do it, Kalen..." she whispered, sounding very much like a terrified little girl.
Kalen snapped his eyes to hers. He felt them go to a deep pink color. "Katia... We didn't come all this way for nothing." His voice was laced with sympathy. He then turned to face Arvelia, straightening his shoulders. "Queen Arvelia of the Winter Court," he said firmly, which made the queen's eyes narrow. "We come forth to present to you your long lost daughter, Katia." He gestured toward Katia, feeling her stiffen beside him.Arvelia watched the Summer fae in wonder, her purple eyes hardening. After a few moments of silence, she said quietly, "What is this ludicrous you speak of? I have no daughter." Though her voice was firm and steady, her eyes filled with tears, and her face contorted into a sad expression.
"Hayden Bennett," Katia said suddenly. It was her father's name, and she looked deep into the queen's eyes as she said it.
Arvelia suddenly gripped the throne's armrests tightly, her knuckles turning white. "I don't know this Hayden..." She couldn't even finish the name, her voice caught in her throat.
"You do," Katia said, voice broken. The lie in the queen's eyes was crystal clear to her. She also saw a lot of emotion in them too, which surprised her. "He's suffering without you, you know..." She choked on a sob, remembering how sick her dad was when she was kidnapped, and she desperately hoped he was alright.
Arevlia closed her eyes, Hayden's face flashing before her eyelids. She remembered the laughs he brought out in her, his kisses, the way he said I love you. She remembered saying it back to him, and meaning it. She opened her eyes as a tear fell, sliding down her cheek. "Katia..." She whispered.
Katia lost it then, crumbling onto the icy cold floor. She heard her whisper as if she had said it against her ear. She doubled over sobbing, because she swore she had heard that same voice before, whispering her name, in a somehow more musical tone. "Mom..." she said between sobs. After all these years she finally found her.
((=w=))Arvelia couldn't stand it anymore, her heart felt like it would burst out her chest from sadness at the sight. She got up and rushed toward her, her dress flowing behind her. Kneeling beside her daughter, a wave of emotions crashed into her like a wrecking ball. She let out a chocked sob as her arm coiled around Katia. "My daughter... It's alright." Her whispered echoed in her ear.
((._. Do I have to poke you all the time now?))Her mother's arms around her were cold, but comforting. She embraced the cold and buried her face in her neck, sobbing against her. "Why? Why did you leave Dad? Why did you leave us?" The questions she'd wanted to ask her for so long flew out of her mouth in a broken whisper.
((No. o.e))Arvelia understood that she had a lot of questions, but that would have to wait for right now. "Hush now, child. Let us talk about it over dinner." She soothed back her hair, and stood up bringing her with her. "You look famished," she said, her brow furrowing.
((Why do you not come on msn anymore? :c))Food was the last thing on Katia's mind, but she nodded. She stepped out of her mother's arms a little bit, not wanting to hug her too tightly. Katia looked down at her own tattered and dirty clothing, feeling embarrassed. Her mother was royalty, after all.
((I dunno. I guess since it's Christmas and I've been busy. Speaking of, I'm about to get off. Gotta go with my parents to the post office. o.e I'll be back soon!))Arvelia motioned for the three fae to follow her, as guards took up the rear of the group. She walked through a door to the right of the throne, and entered a vast dinning area. The table had to have been about thirty-feel long, and ten-feet wide. "Come, enjoy the food." A hand full of waiters came out with plates lining their arms, placing them on the table. "Take what you want, and as much as you want." She sat down at the end of the table, and motioned for the three to sit beside her.
((:/ Alrighty. Seeya~))Katia's mouth watered at the food, and she sat beside her mother, her eyes moving to Kal and gesturing for him to sit on her other side.
((Sorry. x.x Lotta shit going on with my family. *huddles into a corner with you* ;w;))Kal sat down next to Katia, taking her hand under the table. He wasn't about to eat the food the queen had laid out. He wasn't risking the chance of being poisoned. The unusual sudden behavior made him extra suspicious.
((It's alright. ^^))Katia ate slowly. "So um... Mom..." It still felt weird calling her that. "Why...did you leave us?"
Arvelia looked at her daughter like it was the most stupid question in the world. Her eyebrows drew together, as she took a sip of her red-as-blood wine. "To protect you, of course." She said casually.
"To protect me? But..." She hesitated, but then sighed. "I was taken here. The group of fey that took me was attacked, and I managed to get away." She looked at her, confused. "Did you send those fey for me?"
Arvelia's throat closed up, her voice barely a whisper. "No, I did not." She then looked at her daughter in confusion. "That's exactly why I left, because I was afraid something like that could happen." She could hear Dain whisper A lotta good that did. Her restraint to turn around and glare at him was very hard to hold.
"Well it happened anyway," Katia said with another sigh. She took another bite of her food. "They told me they were going to take me to you, but they didn't mention exactly who you were, other than my mother. They didn't mention you were the...Unseelie queen."
Arvelia felt a small muscle under her eye twitch. "Well, that wasn't my doing." Her sigh sounded throughout the room, as she picked up a piece of food from her place with her fork and brought it to her mouth.
"They took me at a bad time..." Katia whispered. "Dad is sick, and my little sister Shana..." Seeing her mother's confused expression, she added, "Dad remarried a few years ago. The only good thing that came out of it was Shana." She sighed, remembering her stepmother. "She was a terrible woman."
"I see," said Arvelia, a flash of sadness for Hayden appeared in her eyes. She sat like that for a moment, as a question filled her mind. "So, what do you accomplish by finding me?" Her voice was soft and curious.
"I don't know..." She looked at her mother, her expression tired and sorrowful. "I got taken her to find you, so I was determined to do just that. I thought maybe after that, I could find a way back home. I just wanted to know who you were, if you even remember me or love me. But I really just want to go home." Her voice dropped to a whisper, and she leaned closer to Arvelia. "I'm scared... Dad is really sick, and Shana is only six years old... It pains me everyday that they're alone. Please Mom, could you help me get home? They need me.."
"Of course you can go home," she said immediately. Her eyes flared angrily. "I don't know why those fey came and got you, they weren't by my orders." She sighed, and ran a hand through her silvery hair. "But yes, you may go home if that's what you wish." She smiled and got up, her eyes drifting to Dain. After a few moments of staring at him, she whirled around and headed through an open door. "We'll begin tomorrow." Then she was gone.
Katia turned to Kal and squeezed his hand, resting her head on his shoulder. "I have to go home tomorrow... My family needs me," she whispered, closing her eyes and breathing in his scent.
Kal had stiffened from the start of the conversation, his muscles taunt and unmoving. He stared straight ahead, where the queen had disappeared through the door. "I understand," he said, his voice monotone.
((There should be some kind of scene between Dain and Arvelia. But I don't know if I can play her. xD I'd be able to if you told me what to say loool.))One of the guards came and led them to the rooms. Katia made sure Kal stayed close to her. Her last night in this world, she didn't want to be separated with him. She wanted him as close as possible. Dain disappeared somewhere.
((._. That wouldn't be much of a RP then. Just try lol.))Dain wondered through the door the queen had disappeared through, as it led to another corridor. This place is a damn maze. Dain thought. He placed his face against the first door in the hallway, his ear listening to see if anyone was in the room.
((But still, let's make a scene for Katia and Kal too. c; I believe it's finally time for them to get down and durrrrty. Btw come on msn. :c))Arvelia sighed as she sat on her big, king-sized white bed, placing her crown on a small cushion on her bedside table and untying her platinum hair, letting it fall down her back. Her mind was reeling. Mostly about the fact that she'd just met Katia, whom she'd wondered about so many times, and also because Dain was here. Dain. Her first love. She felt some sort of presence in front of her door. "Who's there?" she said in her usual queen-like voice.
Katia led Kal into the room and closed the door behind them. She slowly stepped closer to him, and then placed her hands on his chest. "I'm sorry, Kal.." she whispered. "I wish you could come with me, but... I know you have your own family."
((YAY. :D FINALLYY~))Dain froze at the sound of Arvelia's voice, his eyes closing at the silkiness of it that he missed so much. "It's me," his voice was hoarse when he answered her. He had answered her like that so many times before, it almost brought tears to his eyes.
Kal sighed as he closed his eyes tightly, rubbing the palms of his hands against the sockets. "I don't want you to leave, but I know you have to." His voice was layered with pain, anger, and sadness. Pain, because he'll probably never see her again. Anger, because the queen seemed like she wanted to get rid of them sooner rather than later. And sadness, because well...it's pretty obvious.
Arvelia's heart jumped up to her throat, and she swallowed it down. "Come in." Her voice cracked. It wasn't supposed to crack. She was the Unseelie queen. She wasn't supposed to feel, either.Katia wrapped her arms around Kal, shaking as tears silently streamed down her cheek. "Look at me," she whispered, resting her forehead on his. "Kal... Please look at me.."
