Yeah, couldn't resist! ;D

It was really good, too.

message 456: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Priester (jenniferpriester) I'm Jennifer and have been reading and writing for almost as long as I can remember. There was a time when I hated to read, but don't remember it too well and luckily that changed. Very recently I published my first book which is part of a series. I am supposed to release my second book this spring.
I mostly like to read and write about animals, the relationships between humans and animals, magic, and the supernatural. I also read and write both fiction and nonfiction. I also, for some reason, really like superhero stories.
Besides reading and writing I also like TV, movies, video games, drawing (I do my book artwork), horseback riding with my favorite horse, Levi, spending time with my pets, and really anything fun. Recently this year I discovered that I liked blogging (which I thought I would hate) and now have a blog that I update every two weeks.
Based on very mixed feedback that my first book is recieving from friends, and other people I am looking to improve my writing, although probably for later books since none of the lower book reviews came until after the first book was published so even though I want to improve the next ones it won't do much good unless new readers were to read my series out of order, but still it's something I want to do. For some reason with my book it seems as if there are only two reviews that I am getting (with one exception here on Goodreads). This is that either people have loved the book and are waiting for the next one, or they stopped reading before the point where I think the book is at its best and never finished or read those stories.
This group also seems like a lot of fun so I thought maybe I would join and try it out.

Wow, Jennifer! That's a lot of introductory talking! Not that I am complaining, of course. It's great to hear that you changed negative thoughts into positives, both blogging wise and book wise. It's also exciting to hear that you have published your first book and are going to publish a second!

Welcome to the group!

message 458: by Brijit (new)

Brijit Reed | 3 comments Hi, All--

My name is Brijit and I just published my second book in screenplay format on Kindle. The bulk of my writing experience so far has been in screenplays, so I'll probably publish most them in that format until I can finish the book I really want to publish in novel format.

I'm fascinated by the writer's muse-- what inspires us? What twists our guts? What fills you with joy? What provokes you to action? My blog explores these things and if anyone is interested, I'll post the link here. I'd love to hear what inspires you!

Hey, Bridjit!! Thanks for joining the group! :D

The writer's muse is what gets all of us thinking. There is just so many ways to go about it, practically every answer and question is the correct one! Anyway, it's nice to hear you have some things published already! We have a lot of fabulous writers and authors here, so feel free to bring up any writing-related muses here, in any topic, pretty much! :)

Hey, Kylie! You sound like one bubbly person! I seem to have the same problem (but probably less imaginative as you are, I'll unfortunately admit!). Anyway, we'll try to give you some pointers + Tips + Hints. But I guess it's just the general aspect of what you need to improve on first that requires the most attention, then move onto slightly small problems that are just as big! ;)

I'll see if we have a Tips Thread set up already, eh?

My name is Norma. I like reading anything. I'm into photography. I wrote several books, but like I heard before I don't listen to critics. I write for the joy of it. Most of my other books are about my photography. I get bombarded with negative comments, but I don't let those comments put me down. There are so many stories to tell. I think if there weren't any authors or photographers the world would be very boring. :-)

Amy (dollyames) | 5 comments Hey there! I'm Amy. I wrote stories in high school, most of college and early twenties. Then for some reason, I stopped. I critiqued a friend's novel and got the bug again so I've restarted again. Finished chapter one of a young adult modern fantasy novel. Oh my!

My friend and I enjoy some photography, also. Have you captured some amazing images yet? We all know that, sometimes, pictures can hold more words than a novel full of facts.

Maybe. I inherited one of her stories, and we write it together. Did she ever post The Demigod Tournament? Yeah. She and I work on that together, but she does more. I also have an adult book...even though I am not an adult. And as I said, Kassi might come back.
