Pine heard a voice and ran faster. She stopped as she reached Erica "what's going on he...." Pine trailed off as she saw the blackened woods "what happened here?" She asked in horror.

Erica was distraught. She kept calling. "Marina, jara? fey? Lillya?
Pine nodded, but in confusion. "so...that's how the forest got like this?" Pine turned to Erica when she heard her voice. "Listen" Pine said softly "Who are these people? You have to tell me if you want any help!"
Erica looked at pine, blankly. Then comprehension filled her face. "My friends". She whispered.
"Okay" Pine said softly "Can you tell me what happened here?"
inglades tied hazal's hands and feet, then started to bandage her leg, all the while listening to an unending stream of curses
Erica walked over to a tree nearby that was burned but not dead. The whispers that the tree was speaking were for her ears alone. "Sh says the monsters came and set light to all the trees. " As she spoke she ran her hands over the bark. Where she touched the tree it left fresh ealed bark.
inglades walked after erica and pine, and paling visibly when he saw the devestation to the forest
Pine narrowed her eyes, people were injuring HER trees? The trees she had grown up around, that had fed her and sheltered her? Pine pushed down her rage long enough to ask "Does....uh....the tree have any idea where these monsters went?"
Erica leaned against the tree. "She is sleeping" So she can't answer. "I will keep asking." She walked through the forest listening to what all the trees said. Finally se heard thoughts of the monsters. She started to run back into the clearing. She tripped over a tree root and stumbled falling on the cuts on her arms. "Ugh" She said. It burned.
Pine stooped down quickly to help her. "Are you okay? do you need anything?" Pine had rarely seen any cuts as bad as Ericas and it troubled her immensely.
"No" She said pushing herself up. "They went that way." She pointed towards the trees she had just come from.
"Okay" Pine said, the rage filling her again "Do you want to come, I might need help, but then again you are injured, maybe you should stay here...."
"i may be able to help, at least with finding the beasts. my master, the man who was to train me to be a knight, was a ranger of sorts. and he passed his knowledge to me. i only wish i had paid closer attention.."he crouched to the ground, and began examining the ground for tracks. after several miniutes hi stood up suddenly," i've seen these tracks before! they're the reason i was sent here..." he sat on a log, putting his head in his hands "the tracks begong to a daemonlord"
"No I am coming!" She nearly yelled at pine. "I am the protector of the trees I will not let them be hurt."
"my lady, you are not fit for travel. but i must set out at once to rid the world of this blight!"he pulled out a whetstone and started sharpening his sword.
"Hmm" Pine murrmurd "I don't know, we might want to take her with us, the monsters might come back, or she might hurt herself trying to follow us..."
"NO way!" she shouted. "LIke I am going to let you leave me behind." She turned and walked out of the clearing.
"well, it would seem..." inglades commented to pine, we may need her for what's to come. from what i saw, there several lesser daemons with it, but they are very dangerous! from what i saw, there is a hive of them somewhere nearby. the outpost of waymeet hasn't sent a messenger for many weeks. i think we should startt there"
Pine nodded, only half listening, Erica was getting off! "Wait!" Pine shouted "You can come!" Pine caught up to Erica and slowed her pace, ready to catcher Erica if she fell from the pain of her cuts again.
"Good!" She said finalizing it. Realizing pine was hovering she smiled at her. "I really am fine."
Pine nodded, but she was still a little skeptical "So I guess we just follow the tracks of this......Deamonlord"

"my brother knights have been slain by this fiend, and i will avenge their deaths, no matter what i may suffer for it."

"anger or no, this beast must be eradicated"he didn't slow his pace, and whistled to call his horse.
Shaya slowly stood up, the gyser was still going, Shaya walked through it and washed the dirt away. With her clothing and hair sopping wet she pushed the Gyser away and walked towards the others.

Tamisin hurried her flying to catch up. "And that means.... I mean, I was never a vocab whiz, so you might have to speak plain English for me."
"do you have horses?"inglades asked, climbing in to his saddle. then he responded to tamisan's question."i intend to kill this daemon."

"I love killing demons!" Shaya said, "Its so much fun! Though my brothers did the acual killing my father kept me away. But it is still amazing!"

"are you sure we should let her come? she may be a liability..."
"I ve witnessed it when my father was trying to settle things and my maid wasnt watching me, I snuck out to watch my brothers kill a night demon, amazing."
"night demons are formidable indeed. your brother sounds like a remarkable man. a shame he isn't with us now, because a night demon's power pales compared to a daemonlord, and i will tell you now, there's no assurance that you will escape alive. i will only have willing friends come with me. yes, even after so little time, i know that you are all good people."
Shaya swollowed, if only her brother were here.
"lady shaya, if you think swordsmanship is the only thing they taught me, you're mistaken. something is troubling you, and if it has something to do with my task, i need to know about it"
Pine turned around, hearing voices, there were now like three or four people in the burned down forest area "what....." Pine trailed off confused, she had been confused more today then she had been in all her life. "are you folks coming with us?"
"i will go, and if i go to my death, so be it! they have already taken everything of worth from my life."
"Nothings wrong." Shaya said. "My brother was able to kill the demon but ended up killing himself as well. He was an idiot, it was in front of the whole village, I bet he was just trying to show off for a girl." Shaya shook her head and smiled, "I hated him any ways."
"your brother still sounds like he was a good man, shaya. you shouldn't say things like that, he killed a demon, and that is a good deed, no matter what it is done for."
"Yes he was a good man in some ways, Getting revenge on death, for example," Shaya said, "He was a master at that, justice. That was his favorite word."
"did he work with an order of knights, or was he one in spirit? i feel i knew a man not unlike him. what was his name?"
"Syron." Shaya said. "He was in the order of nights, unnatural for an elf but he was a strong man."
"syron! i knew him!" inglades almost leaped off his horse in amazement "he was the first elf i knew, at least who who actually worked to improve the world. it pains me to learn of his death. he was a great man, and his death is a terrible loss for those concerned with goodness. but if blood is anything to go by, i am honored to meet you in person. syron often spoke of you, told us how proud he was of you. that you would have gladly joined us had your father allowed, and slain more than the rest of us put together."
"here is not the place to discuss though, i need to depart, and i would welcome any help that comes my way. but i have to go to find this fiend, and i have no time to spare."
"He spoke correctly," Shaya said smiling. "Lets go get ourselves a demon."

"Yes" Pine said "Let us go" She had been following the conversation, not understanding what was being said, and now was eager to be off, sh wanted revenge.
