Only first books of series?

I think it's mostly coincidence. Sequels have been chosen twice, so it is not as though there is a policy against it.
Just depends on what the group wants to read. When we put up a theme, we'll sometimes have "second(etc) book in a series" as an option. Usually the group chooses something else though.

You could always start a "buddy read" of an entire series. It wouldn't be the entire group, but you could get some members to join. How many would depend on which series you selected.
Thanks for all of your answers. I will definitely pick up some of the books being read in this group. It's really a great way to find new interesting stuff. My initial idea was however to read all of the books selected here but that does not work as I understand as I would mostly only be reading the first part of any series :-)

I'm pretty new to this group but I noticed from the list of books which were read in this group that you never seem to read the second and following books of a series you are starting here. I wonder if this is a conscious decision or if this is just by coincidence. I would really like to read a complete series together. What do you think?
