Barbara (ibdreamy) | 1 comments I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself but I'm sure this will get lost in the shuffle since it seems this group is extremely large. I love to read and I read a lot. I don't understand how or why everyone doesn't read. I need to read and I think I basically do it to escape reality. Escape into another life, another realm, another era whatever it may be.. I love it.
I just got done today reading "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. I wrote a review if you want to read it. Read on and I hope to get to know some of you.

Laura (apenandzen) Hi Barbara - YES escaping is what we do best here at TNBBC. Glad to have you among us.

OK I keep hearing about Pillars, and so I will have to read it but I tried the first few pages on amazon.com and it looked to be about a building and it was like 11th or 12th century. So I put those 2 together and came up with: boring and didn't go any further.

Guess I have to rethink this?

Anyway. Welcome Barbara, and don't worry you won't fall thru the cracks. If you start to, let one of us know, we'll grab you up and you can crowd surf awhile.

Cheers!

Yes this is at large group but we are always checking the various threads with the "new" messages to see what we can jump in and comment on.
It's lots and lots of fun!
Problem is, we are spending too much time on here and not enough reading!

Barbara...
The only way you will lost in the shuffle is if you want to. We are a large group, but always manage to make room for the newbies!

Thanks for joining. I too ask myself quite frequently what is wrong with the non-readers!!

message 16: by Atishay (new)

Atishay | 1451 comments He He Fiona! You bought the sequel first! I think it would be better that you read the Pillars first and then go to World, esp. in this case.
