"Ready Player One" Where is everyone ATM?

I'm considering starting the book now, curious where everyone is. Not much point in joining the group read if everyone's already finished. I'm working on Game of Thrones at the moment but it's slow-going. I'm tempted to put it away for now. Thoughts?

Okay, so here's the format I'm considering. In order to avoid spoilers, I'm going to create a thread every three chapters (because they're rather short). That way I avoid spoilers because others know exactly what is/isn't kosher to talk about.
