Severus Snape vs. Darry Curtis (from The Outsiders)

OKAY! So to spice up this corpse-of-a group, I've added a debate! For all of those people who have read The Outsiders, you know who Darrel Curtis is (a.k.a Darry).

Anyway, Darry is a Greaser, the oldest of his gang of his 2 younger brothers, Sodapop and Ponyboy, and Two-Bit, Steve, Dally (Dallas), and Johnny. Darry is a tough guy, real smart and muscular (and hot). His parents died in a car crash, leaving him to take care of his 2 younger brothers (and not being able to go to college). He doesn't smile much, and come to think of it, has some similarities with Snape.

I would probably say that there are more similarities between Snape and Dallas Winston. Both were true outsiders (no family or close friends), with a secret, hidden weakness (or love) for one other person (Lily and Johnny, respectively). Both hid their better natures from others. Both died in heroic fashion (actually, although Ponyboy was adamant that Dallas died a hero, I'm less convinced myself), but in such a way that the true story was known to only a few people.
