Is it that time of year?

I always try to read as many of the groups reads here as I can (regular, classics, chunkies), but there is really no planning for those.
For 2012 I would like to make a dent in my real (paper) book shelf. I bought several new releases this year that I really want to get to, plus have bookshelves full of years accumulation, so hope to read a bunch of those.
I also pulled a huge leather copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare off my shelf recently (been there for years) and have it sitting next to my reading chair. I would love to tackle a bunch of the stories in that for 2012. Would be thrilled if I read them all, but doubt I will make it through the whole thing, but would love to get at least some read.

Do you plan ahead? How do you go about it?
