Replaced unused 1999 record with 1975 data. OK?

Since the edition you edited had essentially no edition-specific information and was probably just a later printing, that should be ok.
A first time noob, I thought my edit was going to create a new edition (a new record) but my edit “took over” the original record (thus we’ve lost a valid ISBN book entry, albeit with no user data.) At first I was “eeek”, but upon reflection, why not have the first edition as the main entry in the GR database? If someone comes in with the 1999 edition, they can create the new edition…
(I just found the “add a new edition” link – hidden behind the “Other Editions” text. [Site product manager: Q: Wouldn’t it be better if “Other Editions” was underlined, thus identifying it as a link?] Or is there a more proper way to add a new edition that I’m still missing?)
If my edit is NOT OK, I need help fixing it.
Thanks for you help.
