Who would you want to star in an adaptation of Peter F. Hamilton's "Pandora's Star?"

I'm nearing the end of Judas Unchained (the sequel to Pandora's Star), and this massive space opera could be a really good series. It was actually in a S&L poll.

There are loads of characters: Paula, Hoshe, Adam, Stig, Nigel, Ozzie, Orion, Justine, Mellanie, Kazimir, Gore, Wilson, etc. I'd love to see Joel McHale play Ozzie, Aaron Eckhart as Wilson, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Adam. Maybe Olivia Williams as Paula? What say you?

I like some of your choices (not feeling Joel McHale as Ozzie though).

But like anything else by PFH, I can't possibly imagine it ever being adapted. That kind of uber-dense space opera wouldn't translate well. Too many things like the stuff from the aliens' point of view just isn't possible to reproduce on screen.

Well, you can tell a story without dialogue and still make it clear what a character's motivations and thoughts are...look at Wall-e. But it would be incredibly difficult. I think the biggest thing in the way would be the cost, however.

Oh absolutely. PFH is many things, but he doesn't write on budget.
