message 51: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia came to an enormous tree that seemed to sag over most of the mountain. It was small and skinny. Could she do it?

message 52: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) She cringed, sighing. Crest climbed up the mountain again, not near the bloodbath, hoping for her best.

Faith Noelle Smith Lyra ran into the woods. Looking for somewhere to hide but, failing. Looking for some where to rest. She finally find a small cave and decides she can give herself 5 minutes of rest. The she MUST move on. It's okay. I'm okay. she repeats over and over quietly to the world around her. She wonders where Chance is, if he's okay. Lyra sits there and opens the bag of bread One..Two..Three..Four..Five...Six- She counted 32 slices of bread in all, To last her for- The rest of my life she thought quietly. She knew she couldn't eat anything now. Not just yet. She looks up at the cave walls. Knowing, this might be the last thing she see again.
((If anyone wants to kill Chance off be my guest.))

Nova (novastella) ((Want an alliance? Maybye later I could kill her off by accident.))

message 55: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) ((lol, I'm just a little ray of sunshine, huh? lol))

message 56: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) Roman knew they had to keep moving. The farther they were from the cornucopia, the safer. He let his hand fall away from its warm touch on her cheek and stood, helping Emerie to her feet. He shouldered the pack. "Em, we've got to keep going." This was met with a slight nod, so he slipped his hand through hers, intertwining his worn, calloused fingers through her pale, slim ones. They broke out of the small clearing at a jog and hastened to a run, Roman careful not to out pace her.

Woody started climbing through the branches of his tree, sliding onto nearby trees, traveling slowly towards the bottom of the mountain. I won't make it by nightfall, but I should be in a place no other tribute will be.

message 60: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia tested the branch. It seemed sturdy enough.

She started running down the trunk, making a shortcut down the mountain.

message 61: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) Roman continued to run until he heard Emerie's labored breathing beside him worsen. He slowed to a stop and looked down at her, eyes full of concern. He could see by her expression that she couldn't keep going. The fact that she had ran as far as she did was a miracle in itself. "We can walk now," he said gently, giving her hand a light squeeze. They continued at a slowed pace, meandering between the gnarled roots of immense trees he could not put a name to.

message 62: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia reached the middle of the tree, and she looked back.

She was about halfway down the mountain, and the bloodbath was still going. Already, her ears rang with cannon shots.

message 65: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) Tanner had gotten himself into a foresr. He glanced around, stopping in his steps.... He felt weird, like something was wrong here.

(Gamemaker action? •°•))

message 66: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) ((Hehe;) Send anytging at him, but he'll live.... For awhile.))

message 67: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) Crest cursed, sheltering under a rock canvas. She looked through her backpack, nodding. She felt few drops hit her. Crest laid her weapons by her left side.

Tanner panted hard. How could he get out? Was his question in his head. Tanner felt a heavy rain,.water! He pulled out his bottle, it filling, and ffelt his cut sting.

message 68: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) As rain started to pour down from above, Roman knew their safety would be short lived without shelter. He turned to Emerie, "I'm sorry, Em, but we've to run again. We need to find somewhere dry."
Emerie did not make any move to quicken her pace, instead she stopped entirely, taking hold of Roman's hand with a startlingly ridged hold. He turned her head to him, her eyes unfocused. "No," she said, in a voice that wobbled on the brink of hysteria, "Let’s just lie back and look at the stars--"
Roman knew better than to check the sky for the stars that were not there. It was hardly past midday, by his best reckoning, and storm clouds had already obscured the stratosphere with their menacing expanse. "There aren't any stars, Em. Look at me."
Emerie slowly drew her eyes to his face before collapsing into the mud that welled beneath their feet. What she said next was an incoherent garble and once or twice a name: "LARSON!"
Roman stooped and gathered Emerie's frail body from the ground, holding her firmly against his chest. In this way, he began to walk, feeling each of Emerie's convulsive sobs as if they were his own. Water slicked his hair against his scalp and plastered strands against his face. Emerie's own hair fell in haphazard tangles, framing her tear streaked face. They were drenched by the time Roman found a small outcropping of rock, and beneath it a dry hollow, tall enough to sit up in, but hardly anything more. He let Emerie crawl in first, before coming in and wrapping his arms around her shivering body.

message 70: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia was about 20 feet from the bottom of the mountain, when she felt a few drops hit her arm. She looked up and shivered. Dark rainclouds were quickly gathering in the sky.

These clouds had some extra darkness to them. The rain seemed too cold, the drops were too big.

These were man-made rainstorms. Which made these games a bit challenging. If these clouds could appear at a moment's notice, then Nadia couldn't really know when a storm would end.

She positioned her feet in a sliding motion, and skidded down to the bottom of the hill. She spotted a huge over hanging from a gigantic tree.

That could do for shelter.

((Hey, Chance. Wanna meet me here?))

message 71: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia tried looking for branches with more leaves to better shelter her.

message 72: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) Roman stroked back the damp locks from Emerie's forehead. He murmured words of comfort to combat her quiet tears. She was shivering, he could feel it. He took off is jacket slowly, so as not to jostle her with his movements, and draped it over her shoulders, pulling the fabric close around her.

message 73: by Nova (new)

Nova (novastella) Nadia found a bunch of branches to better shelter her. She then opened her backpack and found some peices of wire, a small dagger, a couple of instant meals, and a dart gun with 20 darts.

Not much in provisions, but I can't say that I was weaponless...

message 77: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) ((What a shame, I was excited about this group.))

message 78: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) ((I hope so...))

message 79: by Eve (new)

Eve (emusings) Roman remembered the sack he had snatched from the hillside and decided that it was as good a time as any to see what he had collected. He kept one arm circled protectively around Emerie's shoulders as he pulled the bag into his lap and loosened the strings that held the small pack closed. He pulled out a box of matches, one empty water bottle, and one meal's worth of MREs. Not exactly a treasure trove, or as good as the backpacks he had spotted further up, but it was something, and that was what mattered. They were better off then some... He wasn't going to allow himself to mourn for the other tributes. Not when they had made it this far. He arranged their items in front of him neatly in a row before turning his full attentions back to Emerie, rocking her slowly from side to side.
