Kimberly, there are book sites where you can find books that are like ones that you like. I wish I could think of the name of one right now. I know that my public library has a link to at least one of them so you could try that.
Thanks Sue, I found a link already with a whole bunch I put a couple on hold already. Thanks though!

Not me either. It is one of a kind.
Kimberly, if you find one similar as Wesley and has good, please let me know. I would be very happy if you sent me a PM, so I absolutely do not loose track of it. Oh, there is one about that parrot that speaks, but it was not as good. When he died everyone was talking about it. I cannot remember the name.
I know what book that is
? Is that it? I'm just looking reading books with a general animal theme Birds, lions, horses etc. I put one about a lion on hold

Here is the book about the parrot: Alex & Me: How a Scientist and a Parrot Discovered a Hidden World of Animal Intelligence--and Formed a Deep Bond in the Process. I fo not think it is as good as Wesley.

Mine too Judy, I've loved him since Good Will Hunting. I think he's really coming into his own these last few years in terms of the acting projects he's been choosing.

I'm reading "Rebirth" by David Longueay (http://rebirthofisrael.com). It's about how the holocaust and WWII impacted the establishment of Israel as a state, with sympathies given to Israel. I love it so far!

Wow! That's amazing. It's on my TBR now. Thanks.
I started The Postmistress last night. It's for my Year Long Challenge (favorite flower on the cover). On my way into town this morning, I will start the audiobook, Great Expectations.

They certainly don't smell good.....they need a good hosing down!
Finished read
Just started reading
... trying to catch back up with my reading goal. Only 1 book behind now, and this will be a fast read for me.... so then I'll be back on track! And that leaves me only a few books down from making my goal!! Yay!! :)
Almost done with A Clash of Kings the second in the series. I really struggled getting through this one although I did like A Game of Thrones. I don't know if I will read any more in this series unless someone out there in goodreads land can convince me that they get better. The next one has over 1200 pages!
Kat wrote: "D'oh, of course I know what to read next - December challenge of course!"Zombies on Ice? :)
Reading Deception Point for another group's monthly theme of espionage and it has a snowy cover, for yet another group's monthly challenge.
Good work on combining the challenges like that Kim. I thought I was teasing you, but it was Kat reading the Zombie books. I was confused. *blush*
Pragya wrote: "Looking for Alaska, Where She Went"Looking forward to hearing what you think of Looking for Alaska I've been meaning to read that one.

I am hearing it on audio book, liking it so far. :)

Now if only I'd thought to search for a book like that ;)
Nope, its ghosts instead!

Umm, not really Judy. Adventure, yes. Memoir, no. It's fiction.
Judy, have you read Ada Blackjack: A True Story of Survival in the Arctic? I don't know if it's in audiobook format. I haven't read it myself but a friend highly recommends it.

SO far I think it's awesome. But I have heard some people aren't too satisfied with the latter half, so I should reserve my judgement till I finish it.
I have noted that many of my GR friends have The Silence of Trees on the TBR lists. I was interested in it too. However it was a real disappointment. I have explained in my review why I only gave it two stars. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...Now I will begin The Tricking of Freya. What do I think the book is about? A multigenerational saga filled with Icelandic myths, legends, culture and landscapes. Good writing. Exploration of family secrets. I hope I am right.
Chrissie wrote: "I have noted that many of my GR friends have The Silence of Trees on the TBR lists. I was interested in it too. However it was a real disappointment. I have explained in my review..."Looking forward to your review of The Tricking of Freya Chrissie.
Today I just began Earth Abides - just a few pages in and I am already loving it. I read The Postmistress last year and enjoyed it. An interesting aspect of WWII with the female journalists. In some ways it reminded of the The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which I also greatly enjoyed. I can't figure out why some readers don't enjoy that book.
