Kimberly, there are book sites where you can find books that are like ones that you like. I wish I could think of the name of one right now. I know that my public library has a link to at least one of them so you could try that.

Chrissie Kimberly, if you find one similar as Wesley and has good, please let me know. I would be very happy if you sent me a PM, so I absolutely do not loose track of it. Oh, there is one about that parrot that speaks, but it was not as good. When he died everyone was talking about it. I cannot remember the name.

Only 1 book behind now, and this will be a fast read for me.... so then I'll be back on track! And that leaves me only a few books down from making my goal!! Yay!! :)

message 2534: by Linda (new)

Linda Almost done with A Clash of Kings the second in the series. I really struggled getting through this one although I did like A Game of Thrones. I don't know if I will read any more in this series unless someone out there in goodreads land can convince me that they get better. The next one has over 1200 pages!

Judy, I will be done with that book in a day or two, I have heard more than half. Only 3 more hours of listening to do. SO far I think it's awesome. But I have heard some people aren't too satisfied with the latter half, so I should reserve my judgement till I finish it.

message 2546: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie I have noted that many of my GR friends have The Silence of Trees on the TBR lists. I was interested in it too. However it was a real disappointment. I have explained in my review why I only gave it two stars. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Now I will begin The Tricking of Freya. What do I think the book is about? A multigenerational saga filled with Icelandic myths, legends, culture and landscapes. Good writing. Exploration of family secrets. I hope I am right.

Michelle (lonelydoll21) | 84 comments Today I just began Earth Abides - just a few pages in and I am already loving it. I read The Postmistress last year and enjoyed it. An interesting aspect of WWII with the female journalists. In some ways it reminded of the The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which I also greatly enjoyed. I can't figure out why some readers don't enjoy that book.

Valerie | 95 comments Just started reading The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen ... trying to finish/catch up on my GR goal and this author's books are a fast read for me ;)
