I was just asking which one you counted as a lot of people think that alex cross's trial is part of the series

I wasn't sure what to class it to be honest sweetie x

I liked it but not as much as Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - have you read it?

It's "different" but fun if you don't take it seriously. Hope you enjoy it.

What did you think of I, Alex Cross?
Have bought it just have to get round to reading it
I am just reading The girl with a dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson-it had so many good reviews thought need to try and I bought it. Now I am in the mood and It will fit nicely in my A-Z title challenge

Thanks. Now reading American wife by Curtis Sittenfeld

When I'm done, I will be starting The Sugar Queen. I really liked Garden Spells, so looking forward to The Sugar Queen!

In the story however I found the denouement very disappointing. It seemed to lose its sense of direction when the reader needed it most. For this reason I have avoided reading the second of Mosse's books.

John,
I recently got both these book through a bookswap site. I haven't read either yet. I know that they don't have anything to do with each other, but I'm curious as to which one you think I should start with. If you would be so kind as to let me know once you get done with Purple Hibiscus, I would be very appreciative!

It is! Hope you're enjoying it!

So far I really like it. I find it a bit slower than HYS and all the Nigerian words (without explanation) are a bit confusing, but the overall story is great.

I went to library to ask about it, the week after it won the Booker Prize, and they hadn't heard of the book or the author.

I have to laugh because when I saw this was seemingly going to be our November read I went to the library and asked for it. They didn't have it and nobody had seemed to hear of it and then I got a call the next day because it came in as a new purchase and the lovely librarians knew that I had just asked about it so I got first dibs!

The Child in Time is an early one (from 1987). Very good, but different from many of his others: not as dark, some satire and even a dash of magical realism. (My review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...)
