The Knife of Never Letting Go

How do you imagine Manchee?
Rhine, that's kind of how I saw him, but I couldn't find a decent picture.
http://dogtime.com/dog-and-cat-photos...maybe this one's a bit small though...
erika's is great as well!
Not unlike Dug from the movie "Up." Which probably has nothing to do with how Manchee's described in the book and everything to do with the fact that Dug's thoughts are verbalized.

I always pictured him as a cross between a Jack Russell and a Cairn Terrier...something small and extremely excitable! But, since seeing The Artist, I've been picturing little Uggie as Manchee. (Especially if there's a film version!)

I imagine Manchee as a bulldog.

But agree with Lyndsay something small and giddy especially since he's always being picked up!

Anyone else notice that Doug from Up is a lot like Manchee and the Cassor (bird) was a lot like Kevin, the bird in Up. The way the cassor ate the cheese and hacked it back up. I think the book came before the movie though.
In this New World animals may appear however they appear..... so... Manchee is definitely bred in the Hound-type line..... and is pictured as a cross bassett/beagle.... much larger, and more flexible than the typical traits that we know.

Up was released a year after this was so maybe someone read this and got some inspiration from it.
And I just kept picturing Dug as Manchee as I listened to it.
At times I did picture a chunkier version of my dog who is a German Shepherd/Chow/Dachshund mix. Of course it was horrible listening to his death scene and I had to run home to hug my Emmy girl as hard as I could. But mostly I thought of Dug. It was hard not too.
i pictured him as a kind of beagle mixed with other stuff, about a small to medium size, and he looked exactly like my dog. I loved him so much, and I hugged my dog for like, and hour after I read the death scene, just to make sure he was still alive, that's how much Manchee was like my dog.

Yes this is pretty good ;) cute Manchee
I imagined him as a mongrel, scruffy and brown. Has anyone else ever read the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton? They were these kids' chapter books where 4 cousins and their dog would have awesome summer adventures full of smugglers and trapdoors. I imagined Manchee looking exactly like Timothy. http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/au...

I imagined a dog with shorter legs. A bit like this (with a less fluffy tail):http://www.dogsblog.com/basil-8/
