2013, it was supposed to come out 2012 but the fail in the script pushed it up.

I am mad it got pushed because I was looking forward to this movie...even though I predict it's going to be bad, most of the books turned to movies are but hopefully it doesn't happen, but mostly likey it will be bad.
Posetive here, are we? :) I think it's going to be good, but a book is always better.

Well, I think TVD is better then the books, and I have no problem with TSC because I just love Thomas Dekker and I havn't seen Eragon and Twilight is not great like the book but it's good. I hope that JCB does a good Jace or I will cry. I hate that he was cast, but you can't do anything about it, :p
Yeah thats true. TVD is actually so much better than the books. Have you watched the recent episode?? for both TVD AND TSC?I mean they cast Robert Pattinson as Edward and so many people were furies! hahaha but he made a really good Edward :D You never know hahaha whoo! Now I am being positive :P
Please someone tell me that what I just read is false and producers did not drop City of Bones and it is still going to be a movie!!!!! >:(

Whoa, so this is inconveniently timed given that I’m leaving the country and I was going to announce that I was turning off my Ask box till I get back in March. Eep.
So, THR’s is a slightly bizarre version of events. Screen Gems didn’t drop the project; they weren’t involved with it — it was given to Columbia Pictures to develop back in… August of 2011? But yes, Screen Gems and Scott Stewart aren’t involved with the movie of City of Bones any more. The rights are owned by Constantin, they always have been. Constantin makes movies: they just made The Three Musketeers with Logan Lerman. Screen Gems would have been the distributor and co-producer but it was never their project; it’s Constantin’s. Screen Gems hasn’t actually been involved with the project since — well, let’s just say it’s been a while. (Some people have asked me if this is the news Marlene King was talking about on Twitter last week but it wouldn’t be; she was brought on after Screen Gems wasn’t involved any more. She’s never worked with them so it wouldn’t be news to her.)
Why didn’t I tell you guys? This isn’t really even the sort of thing that people tell me. Constantin owns the movie rights: who distributes it and co-finances and all that isn’t actually anything to do with me in any real meaningful sense. Projects get moved from studio to studio all the time — Twilight started at Paramount and went to Summit, etc. Screen Gems isn’t even the only production company CoB has been involved with, or the most recent. And half the time I don’t know about it, so 1) I can only give out news that’s been confirmed and okayed for me to give out and 2) half the time I don’t even know this stuff or it’s so in flux there would be no point saying anything about it if I did.
In this case, I will say:
1) The movie isn’t “cancelled.” This really doesn’t make much of any difference at all except in who distributes it.
2) Lily and Jamie are still attached. I mean, it’s been months since SG was connected with the project, and they’re still attached, so I’m fairly confident they’ll be attached for the foreseeable future. Will they be attached forever? NO idea. But nothing about this news makes it any more or less likely.
3) Really, this makes no difference to anything. I know words like “dropped” sound shocking and horrifying but in this context, it doesn’t mean much. I talked to Constantin last week and actually gave them a list of actors I liked for Simon (because why not?), and they gave me a schedule they expected to start filming by (August.)
No movie is going to be made until it’s greenlit. The movie was in development. It’s still in development. That said, Hollywood is like a big pinball machine. Projects bounce up, they roll around, they go this way, they go that way. This is a bounce.

Hey everone, I'm totally new here... So don't mind my odd ways and mannerisms. lolI just noticed this discussion and was wondering - does anyone agree that The Three Musketeers (2011) was quite possibly the biggest rape of a good novel in recent, and perhaps all, of movie history? Haha.

The infernal devices is way better than the mortal instruments. Clary does have a side of a spoiled brat who wants to have whatever she wants regardless of what will happen to her friends. But I like the book. it's still awesome. I love Jace and Simon. :D

I never thought of Clary as a spoiled brat..I always just thought that she was always so desperate to save everyone that she was a little reckless sometimes but i still like her.
I love Simon!! I kinda feel bad for him though... and ofcourse cant help but love Jace :)

I am going to get CP this weekend. I cant wait!I was told about City of Bones by someone I used to know and I almost didnt read it because when she was telling me about it I did not find it interesting but the next day she just hands the book to me and tells me to read it. I read it in a few hours and read City of Ashes the next day. Hands down the best series ever!
in this book is the city made of bones?
I read that they only have 4 more weeks to get the rest of the cast for the movie.

I was not okay with the guy they chose at Jace but Cassandra keeps saying that when he gets into character he makes the perfect Jace. I havent seen much of Lily's acting so i have no clue how great she is.

No all it said was that it has yet to go into production and she has a twitter account under the name Clary but no longer uses it.

I don't like Lerman after the Lightning Thief movie plus Simon is nerdy and Lerman feels odd for the role.
