Looking forward to:
1. The holidays. I really love them. I really, really do.
2. I'm taking some of my chess team to an all-girl's tournament on Saturday. It's going to be great.
3. Literary trivia tonight! Last year we got third, but I want to win!
Not looking forward to:
1. A winter without heating oil. Crouched around space heaters. Seeing my breath in the morning. (If there are any rich and altruistic goodreaders out there who'd like to put over-priced oil into our inefficient heating system, just shoot me a pm).

I'm looking forward to:
1) Thanksgiving. We get to have it twice this year, which I love, Tday being my favorite day of all.
2)Winter, and snowboarding, Christmas vacation, and the chance to read for pleasure again. Snow.
3)The end of my first semester teaching.
I'm not looking forward to:
1) Writing a 20 page paper on literary theory.
2) Meeting with my adviser today to design my thesis and perhaps a NCTE presentation proposal.
3) Grading.

1) Sleeping in this Sunday (my only day to sleep in and I can't wait).
2) Christmas. It'll be hectic but everyone is coming 'home' for the holidays and staying with (drum roll please)...ME and the hubby. Grandma, Dad, Uncle and his girlfriend and daughter. It's going to be a Griswold repeat!!
3)My husbands holiday party. Can't wait to put on my frilly dress and dancing shoes.
I'm not looking forward to:
1)My personal training session tonight. Last week was torture and I could hardly walk down steps.
2) The morning after my husbands holiday party. I have a feeling it's not going to be pretty.

1) Reading Nicholas Evans "The Brave" that comes out next year.
2) Finishing off my exams and then having a vacation
I'm not looking forward to next week that is going to be full of exams coming one after the other.

Im not looking forward to going back to work tommorow I had 2 weeks vacation not ready to go back yet!lol

Wren, I would not be looking forward to your number 2. That would definitely be in the other column:)
2:36AM. I'm looking forward to dawn.

1. My free trip to New Orleans in two weeks
2. Going to Indy for Christmas
3. Going Full Viggo this weekend
I'm not looking forward to:
1. Another dreary week of meetings
2. The complaints I have to resolve today
3. Grading

It's actually quite sad...we believe that this is going to be my Grandma's last holiday and we are all coming together as a family to be with her (terminal pancreatic cancer). I'm more daughter than granddaughter and I'm going to make this the best Christmas EVER for her and our family. It will be bittersweet but I'm trying to stay positive.
Sorry to post that downer on a Friday morning!

Sweet dreams tonight RA!
PS - This weekend with all our kids is another thing I'm looking forward too! I love being the only gal in the joint. I get treated like a princess.

1. Wine tasting in Carmel tomorrow. Its my first time!!
2. Thanksgiving
3. Fires in the fireplace
What I'm not looking forward to:
1. Rainy season...I hate driving in it.
2. My Weight Watchers weigh-in on Monday!

PS - Good luck @WW.

1. Finishing my second novel. Sometime early next year (?)
2. Having today and the weekend away from work.
3. My improv team continuing to gel and grow our dynamic together.
4. A new President
I am not looking forward to:
1. Finishing my novel. Sometime early next year (?)
2. Going back to work on Monday.
3. Continuing bad economic (and war-related) news.
4. Death.
D2, thank you for saying death. I've never been through it, but I imagine it'll ruin my day.
I'll take paperwork, rainy season, and a boring meeting over oblivion anyday. Yes, I realize that oblivion, properly speaking, isn't "experienced," but I've grown so accustomed to existence that it'd be a cryin' shame to scrap it now that I've put so much sweat equity into it.
I'm also not looking forward to: (1) Lourdes Ciccone's acting career; (2) the Super Bowl; (3) vomiting; (4) the geriatric years of thousands of women with cherry crotch tattoos; (5) my first prostate exam; (6) your excoriating disapproval; (7) Sarah Palin's comeback; (8) the ten-day extended weather forecast; (9) the final spasms of wanton immaturity; and (10) the artichoke dip you ordered without asking me.

Lourdes Ciccone's acting career! You are right. We must brace ourselves. shudder

The Full Viggo is my term for a weekend without the kids. Naked, yes. Two other men and a steam room, not so much.
That sounds like privot info there, Shattery.
David, I can't believe you aren't looking forward to the 10 day extended forecast. That's the highlight of my Weather Channel web page experience.

Looking forward to,
-Spending tomorrow, a Saturday morning at home and in bed all day. (I've hardly been home all week and need a little down time.
-Thanksgiving weekend: it'll be a four day weekend, not traveling anywhere, no family!
-Making Split Pea Soup on Sunday
-Seeing my dad and stepmom for Christmas
-Meeting my writing group on Sunday.
Not looking forward to,
-The next couple of weeks at work (property management, low income.) We have some maintenance work that is going to make things hectic
I'm sorry about your Grandma Wren. Hope you guys have a great Christmas.

I don't travel anywhere for Thanksgiving, either. It's a rule. I'm not wasting my favorite holiday in the car.
Although we are going to a waterpark thirty minutes north of here, but that's ok.
And I think I've said before, the weather channel excites me in ways I can't even begin to describe. Although the Travel Channel and Discovery Channel are lovely, too.
Oh, one more thing...speaking of Madonna's kid...I've seen Bruce Willis/Demi Moore's daughter...Rumor or something like that...I mean, Rumor is her name...she is ugly and untalented. I almost feel sorry for her when she's on camera. Seriously.

I've got a super busy month. The first week of November was, as you know, spent in New York. I have a big project to work on for school plus a couple of book club books to catch up on. I'm going to a 49er game next weekend, and I have several parties to go to this month as well. A couple of friends are moving and they're each having a going away party, and then the day before Thanksgiving we are invited to an Urban Family Thanksgiving dinner (urban family = friends).

One sunny day in 2009 an old man approached the White House.
He walked up to the Marine standing guard and said, 'I'd like to go in and
meet with President Bush.'
The Marine looked at the man and said, 'Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer
president and no longer resides here.'
The old man said 'Okay' and walked away.
The following day the same man approached the White House and said to the
same Marine 'I'd like to go in and meet with President Bush.'
The Marine told the man, 'Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer
president and no longer resides here.'
The man thanked him and walked away.
The third day, the old man approached the same Marine and said 'I'd like
to go in and meet with President Bush.'
The Marine looked at the man and said, 'Sir, this is the third day in a
row that you've been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you every
time that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and that he no longer
resides here. Don't you understand?'
The old man looked at the Marine and said, 'Oh, I understand. I just love
hearing it.'
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted the old man, and said, 'See you
tomorrow, sir.'
Taking the series 24 exam after the first of the year. I am both looking forward to it and dreading it. The grueling hours/days of study and the actual test are no fun, but I will be glad to have the licensing! I'm really happy that the guys decided to send me for it, and pay for it. But, it is a bit painful as well. That is where I have been lately, studying my ass off. I'm up to getting 65% on the drill and practice though, and I've only been at it for just over a week, so that is pretty good. One of my bosses is supposed to be doing it with me, he got a 48% this morning...:) Heh, I can hardly hold back the gloating. Of course, he has a life...

1. I have symphony tickets for Saturday night.
2. I will have a hotel room to myself tonight at a state meeting.
3. We're taking the kids to a waterpark thanksgiving weekend. Ok, I'm half-looking forward to that one.
To What Am I Not Looking Forward?
1. I've been putting off some paperwork for a while...gotta get that shit done.
2. Next week will be crazy busy at work.
3. I hate being away from my family for work, even for a day or two.
And....you?
