This is my second post.

This book is a discontinued version of the prior ones. The ISBN is completely different; indeed, when it was first issued in 1999 it was given only this number:
1-58500-663-7
An ISBN 13 number of 9781585006632 was assigned much later.
The publisher was fired, the book yanked from the shelves and rewritten. This is not the same book as the others and should be categorized as a different edition.
Please help!

OK, re message 163: Not sure why the ISBN 10 was put there. It shouldn't be, so fixed. Also re message 164, separated and added a librarian's note. Might want to add a description though.

As with our exchange above, this book is a discontinued version of my others. The ISBN is completely different; it was first issued in 2001 with a 10 digit ISBN: 075962562X. The 13 digit ISBN was added later.
The publisher was fired, the book yanked from the shelves and rewritten. It is no longer in production. This is not the same book as the others and should be categorized as a different edition. I have marked it as discontinued in my 'review' for this cover.

I undid this. Revised editions DO stay combined with other editions. That is long-standing GR policy.
A note in this description field is fine, and I noted already that it is a revised edition.

WE HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS TITLE
OLD, FLAWED EDITION:
'Warning' wording in this one's review

Warning Bleeds over:
You need to disconnect the invalid (older, uglier, completely rewritten) edition from the rest. I don't care if they are grouped together, but the warNing 'review' that I placed on that one have now 'bled' into all the current editions but the newest paperback cover. When I try to paste a current 'review' - meaning author's comments - into them to replace the warning, the defective version is given the new remarks and the warning is removed.
Can you unlink them? They have different ISBNS from the oldest one and should not have the same description.
This is not a problem with The City of Refuge

Please do what you can to fix this; I'll be grateful. This flawed, faulty, full of inaccuracies (from the publisher) edition has been a thorn in my side for ten years.

Diana, to edit an existing review when you have shelved more than one edition of a book, you need to make sure you're on the page for the edition whose review you're editing. I'd suggest editing the review to make it clear that that particular first edition (you may want to include a link to the first edition's page) has been rewritten for later editions. Every review for every edition shows on every other edition's page by design, so if your review is particular to one edition you should make that clear in the review.Most editions of most books have different ISBNs. It's actually considered a problem when multiple editions share a single ISBN, since an ISBN is intended to uniquely identify by edition within a book.

Hm I don't know what happened, but the problem appears to have vanished. Maybe it was the photo of Yul Brynner pasted in briefly. Who knows?

Hi, I was just looking at this author's books... and I think all of these need to be combined. They're either 1st editions or second-recently released editions but they're all the same book just you know... edited, extended and released under a new publisher...Thanks so much! and sorry for the trouble...

I was actually just looking at those. ;) On the combine page, a GR employee has left the following note, "According to the author, different enough from the other [edition] to merit its own work. Please don't combine."If anyone can track down the differences between the editions, though, I think it'd be best to add that info to the series listing to give readers a heads-up. (At the moment, there's a comment about the series being only for the second editions, but it's only viewable to librarians.)

Hmm... well, that's a puzzler. I'm going to go with either caching delay or some kind of weird bug. Hopefully it'll either resolve itself in time, or someone else will know something about why a review wouldn't appear on a book...?
