I am just posting this because I am trying to get through it and I find it very monotonous...if any if u are reading it or want to read it or have read it...I thought it would be nice to have a place to complain about it as I will be doing....:)

Well Teri-lynn, I have read it and found it very funny, at least part 1 is anway. Part 1 was published way before part 2 and contains all the most memorable episodes (including believing windmills as giants). The second part is more serious, and yes I can see how you would get fed up with it.I have written elsewhere, that i think it depends a lot on the translation. I read Edith Grossman's translation, which is the one I would recommend to anyone.
BTW I read The Scarecrow and His Servant by Philip Pullman soon after reading DQ; it's written for children, and read it to my two children. I was really struck by the similarities in the plot and it is obvious Pullman used Don Quixote as his template for the story. If you want to know the basic plot, but can't be bothered with the heftyness of DQ maybe try that??
Hey Jimmy....Thanks so very much for the info! I appreciate it!!! I think that I am going to try that and see how that goes....I have been also using cliffs notes so that kind of helped as well....I am going to try to pick it up again soon....
I had to read most of this for my British Lit class in college. We had many other things to read so we did not end up reading the whole thing. My book marker is still in place where we left off. I'd love to start reading it again one of these days.
well Jessi if you want we can read it together...I am going to pick it up again next as it is a library book...I am almost finished Juliet so it should be pretty soon!!

That sounds great Jesse.....alright I have finished Juliet...now I have to decide if I want to read the hobbit...Jane Eyre....or Don....hmmmm....I think that I need a little bit to figure it out
