Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Cheers, John. I think I'll be putting the first chapter on my blog soon. You might want to look at it. You might not. Thank again for your help around the site. It means a lot. :)

And Hales, if you ever want to email me questions I'm happy to answer them. My email is carlashmore@mailcity.com . Thanks for your support.

That's great news about the 3rd book!

Once I am already invested in any book series, I dont even read the synopsis of sequels much less read released extracts etc. I like all content of a book to be fresh without any pre-knowledge. Often synopsis, give away too much. So unlikely I will read the first chapter sample.

Just roll on March! However, dont rush it, if you feel its not ready by March, I'll be ok with you releasing it a bit later for proof reading, fine tune editing etc.

I havent read your re-editted first book, will that be crucial for continuity purposes?

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Hi all,

Carl, you are such a tease. Yet this was a great Christmas surprise, so thank you for that. Are you still on track for a March release?

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments I hope you enjoyed it, John:)

I certainly am on track. How's you?

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Sorry, Tej, I missed this. Yes, I believe a re-read would be highly beneficial. There are so many nuggets in the first two books that are related to the next one. This whole saga has been quite meticulously planned since 2005. :)

Okay Carl, enough with the teasers. Let's have the next book already. How long do we have to wait?

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Ha. Hey,it's on its way, I promise. What's your surname,John? I'd like to put you in the acknowledgements as a token of my thanks for your support. Tej, if you read this then I'd like to do the same for you. Only if you guys don't mind, that is :)

Not necessary, Carl, but I appreciate the gesture. My full name should be on my profile page. I'm currently reading the revised version of Book One. I plan to create a Goodreads Quiz once I finish it since there isn't one yet. I will let you know when it's posted to see how well you know your own book.

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Ha. Okay, buddy.I look forward to getting all the answers wrong and looking like a total muppet:)

I hope you enjoy the revised version. I'm so glad I did it.

Well, I am reading this now...an acknowledgement in the Time Hunters series? Blushes That's very kind and I wont object but I must say, John has been the far bigger champion of your books so far.

I am however more patient than John in waiting for your book as I much rather you dont rush it, quality is worth the wait ;) Now hurry up and finish that book and stop idling about on this thread...

Okay, Carl. As I near the end of reading the revised version of book one, I'm having trouble figuring out which parts are new and which were part of the original story. Can you clue me in on which chapters were added. When I got the revised version for my kindle it replaced the original version so I have nothing to compare it to.

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Oooh, now you're asking, Johnny Boy. The whole budgie Cyrobot (and Becky's subsequent fear of budgies) was new.

I fleshed out what happens to Bernard Preston in London - that was new. (If you remember, the book used to start with Preston arriving at Bowen Hall with a bullet in his back.)

I've given Bowen Hall more flavour (that's how Brits spell that BTW) and have fleshed out Uncle Percy's history in relation to the Hall.

I also added more about Kruger's past.

There are also plenty more details (some of them very small) that will add to the overall story.

TBH, as I've been so immersed in TH3 (and the rewrite of TH1 was a year ago), I've forgotten some the other details. However, it's about 7000 words longer and is (in terms of pacing - shorter chapters, better hooks) what I wanted a TH book to be.

I hope that helps.

Oh, and Tej, you will get an acknowledgement whether you like it or not. You both will.

I'm an indie writer and the fact that guys like you help me is worth more than I can say.

Oh, and did I mention that a major Italian publisher has asked about purchasing the rights for TH1 this last weekend. Obviously, I've sold them to Brazil, but Italy is so much closer to home :) It might not pan out but it's lovely to have had the inquiry.

Carl

I just read about the Italian publisher on your blog. Congratulations. I'm thinking about buying a paperback copy of book one in all of the different languages just because I think that would be so cool. If I do, I will have to mail them to you and have you sign them for me.

Thanks for the explanation of the changes in book one. You must have done a good job of incorporating the revisions because nothing has really stood out to me as being remarkably different from when I read it the first time. And now that I've read TH1 again, I think I might reread book two a second time in preparation for TH3. If nothing else, it should help me to pass the time a little quicker. I also hope to have the Time Hunters quiz up within the next week or two.

We had talked a while back about doing a giveaway for TH1. We should do that in March to coincide with the release of the new book. I already have a giveaway scheduled for March, but I think we could do two that month because this series is just that awesome and since I am co-moderator of this group I get to make the rules... with the support of Amy and Tej, of course. Would March 15 be a good time to do a giveaway for book one, Carl?

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Carl, I did finish book 1 & must say that I now see what all the positive buzz is about.

Understand, my books are aimed at a more adult audience, but I enjoyed it very much, even given that I'm much more adult than most adults are.

Good luck.

Scott Finished repeat readings of TH1 & 2 - even more enjoyable third and second time (respectively) around. Now I can't wait for TH3 in March. Come on people, no more distractions so Carl can get the book written and out to us quickly and on time!

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 1177 comments Carl, whoops, it was the 2nd book I read, 'The Box...'

Although I haven't read the 1st (as I incorrectly stated above) I followed easily enough & I stand by all I said eariler.

And I meant that in this current Timeframe, I'm more adult than most.

In other words, I'm old.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Hi All,
Hope everyone is well. The Time Hunters is now on a 2 day free promotion.

Thanks,

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments Oh, and I'd be happy to do the giveaway, John. How do I go about that? I've never done anything like it before (KDPSelect, aside).

And, Howard, glad you enjoyed Book 2. Book 1 is free today if you have a Kindle.

And cheers,Scott. You're very kind.

I will announce the giveaway in March to coincide with the release of your new book. When I start the new discussion thread, I will send you a note inviting you to provide more info about the book. To be entered in the drawing, club members must post an answer to a time travel related question. I will then select a winner at random after one week. I will notify you of who the winner is and let you make arrangements to send their free book. It's that simple. All I need to know is if you want to offer a free ebook, signed paperback or a choice between the two.

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 119 comments John, I would be happy to send a free signed paperback. I don't know how to give a free ebook (I'm not wish Smashwords). So I would hope that would do. :)x
