ABANDONED. Redhead girl learns magic tricks in grade school

This was a really cute book! The girl was a fish-out-of-water (maybe had recently moved to town?), red-haired, and knew slight of hand. She gets her teacher in trouble by "magically" making a passed note disappear in class one day and another time no one believes her when there is a bee in the classroom -- because it's January. Also, towards the end, she gets her hair kind of under control, like starts wearing really sweet ribbons to control her curls. Any thoughts?
