Harvey | 13 comments Hi Cynthia, you are not the only 'accidental' cook; I entered the world of cookery though photography! Rossini of course found music too easy, lucky him, so looked for a challenge.

Heather Doherty | 1 comments Congratulations Cynthia! I just joined this group today because I am on a cooking frenzy and want to share, but it seems that there is very little activity here. Do you know of any more active cookbook groups on Goodreads?

Harvey | 13 comments Seems that the 'obsessive gardeners' are more active cooks than here. I can see the connection of cooking what one is growing of course. :)

Abbey Hi, I'm Abbey, and I also would love to find an active cookbooks/recipe group. Seems like there are a few very active fiction lists, but not so many for non fiction.

Anyway, I've loved to cook for years, and am always trying new recipes when I have the time. Hope the list picks up a bit!

Kaye (kaye16) | 1 comments You might try cookbooker.com. It's more suited to cookbooks and has fairly active discussions. I don't list cookbooks at goodreads, only "food-lit" books, although sometimes the distinction is difficult, like with Laurie Colwin's Home Cooking and More Home Cooking. I'm trying to avoid double-posting, having the same book at two or more sites.

Roberta | 2 comments Hi- I'm Roberta, a so so cook and avid food book reader, as in Tender at the Bone: Growing Up at the Table. I'm looking for a great Indian cook book for a novice cook. He's got the spice set and needs a few basic and healthy recipes to go with it. Easily frustrated so it needs to be easy.

Any thoughts?

Ranjini (leftofwrite) | 5 comments Hi,
My partner & I run the food blog Tadka Pasta (www.tadkapasta.wordpress.com) and it's an eclectic mix of world cuisines with an Indian touch.

Our brand new cookbook, MANGO MASALA: 60 Indian Recipes From Your Local Supermarket, is now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and ebooks2go.com. I think, Roberta, it suits your requirement perfectly..it uses very basic Supermarket ingredients and we have simplified Indian cooking for Westerners..we have a wide range of healthy and fun recipes and we hope you and your friend enjoy it. If you have any questions, please feel free to write to me.

Happy to be a part of this group and Cynthia, I am going to check your book out NOW! :)
