Erica (bookpsycho) | 82 comments I am really going to try to read this. Have been slacking way too much with the group reads.

I am still waiting for mine to arrive from the library - I don't know what's taking so long.

FYI: When the Wind Blows is available for only $7.99 from Audiobookstand.com - I'm considering buying it. I prefer unabridged books but I'm such a slow reader - this would be so easy :-)

Even better, I could get 3 Abridged John Saul books for only $10 - I don't think I can pass this up!

So - I might cheat, but I will definitely experience this book one way or another :-)

Erica (bookpsycho) | 82 comments Ok, have to admit something... I haven't even begun to start this book. I feel so bad, but I've been in such a reading slump. Thank God we have February to read this as well.

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) | 3 comments I've read it too, Kyle. I first read it back in the 80's when I was a teenager and then I read it again last year and still enjoyed it (although I had forgotten most of it from the first time around).

I love the fact that the prologue is always intriguing in Saul books: in this the blind girl who is tormented 100 years ago sets you up to know that she isn't done yet and is set on revenge.

I did remember that spooky graveyard from the first time around too and still thought it was really well done.

What did you think?

When The Wind Blows does not have a blind girl in it. You are thinking of Blind Fury I think. When the Wind Blows is about a nine year old girl whose father dies in a mining accident. After her father dies Christie Lyons moves in with the Mine owner Edna Amber and her adult daughter Diana. Edna is overbearing mother who pushes her daughter to insanity! This is really bad since Diana is planning to adopt Christie. As the book progresses the more insane Diana becomes (especially when the wind blows). Little Christie must live out the nightmare often locked up in the old Mansion's nursery.

I did start listening to the abridged audiobook. Unfortunately, I have been unable get a printed copy from the library. I probably should buy a copy.... I'll think about it. Would probably have order it since it's not readily available and on my days off I don't have time to run around to all the used bookstores/thrift stores looking for it :-)

I am back trying to listen to the audiobook and the wind has been blowing a lot here in Colorado - incidentally, the story is set in Colorado :-)

Reminds me of my relatives just like when I read Nathaniel.
