I chose this book because I play poker. This book was written by James McManus and it is called Cowboys Full: The Story of Poker. So far what I have learned about my favorite game of poker is that it started in France and then it came to the US over 200 years ago.

Actually the author goes all the way back to the invention of "cards" made of painted silk strips! Also the colors red and black come from China cards because those are the power colors in that culture. So there are a lot of influences that come down to use re cards, the suits, the colors, and finally the game that we now know as poker.
