Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Here will be a way for you to join the Mad Scientist in her reading journey.

I'll try to comment every day and give a advanced mention of books I'm planning on reading in case you would like to join in the inky goodness. We can talk about it as we go. Spark up a conversation with me if you already read the book I'm reading. It's more fun with a friend *wink wink*

Comment on what I'm reading, planning to read, and suggest a book. Let me know what you think of the book. Ask me about a book you are thinking about reading... Maybe I read it already. See what I pick up for a challenge book and more.

I'm currently reading an ARC of The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges. Compliments of Netgalley. I'm really enjoying this book. Although, I have noticed mixed reviews on it. We get a look at old Russia full of balls, beautiful gowns, and a crowned prince. There is a unique supernatural twist to this book and there seems to be a good vs dark element wrapped up with everything else.

The Gathering Storm (Katerina Alexandrovna, #1) by Robin Bridges

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Update on The Gathering Storm The Gathering Storm (Katerina Alexandrovna, #1) by Robin Bridges

I'm currently 70% finished with the book. I'm still loving the historical court aspect of the book.

As for the supernatural... there is just so much going on! I'm enjoying some of it. However, at this point other parts feel a bit forced. Perhaps it is just me. Hopefully, it will all thread together and there will be reason for so much going on near the end.

I'm positive I will finish this one tonight and I'll be able to start on something new. Hmm... which one? Anyone have a suggestion?

Has anyone read Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber? I have this ARC and I'm on sure if I want to give it a go. It would fit for Pretty Cover and the author initial challenge.

Any thoughts on Darker Still (Magic Most Foul, #1) by Leanna Renee Hieber ??

I can start it next. I am not so sure what I want to start.

In which is why I need some direction. Otherwise I will randomly pick. LOL!

I also added Matched and Shatter Me to my NookColor so I can have them for Dec. Hoping I get to at least 8 or more of the books I have listed for Dec.

Mad Scientist (madscientist) | 1119 comments Dee wrote: "I read the first Nick and was ehh...specially once the zombies happened..."

I was just not impressed because I like her adult books better. But these books fill in that series behind another character so they aren't too bad.

I've finished the book already. I'm not sure if this book is better then the first. I would say ehh... like the first. The biggest off point was every character kept saying how stupid Nick was throughout the book and how he is irritating each and every person. Also, mention thoroughly throughout the whole of the book. Enough is enough already with the Debbie Downer attitude from everyone.

I have not made it very far into her adult series. Next is book three. LOL! But I read Fantasy Lover the prequel and The Beginning the Novella about Ash.

I really liked book one and two. I heard three is just as great. Now I'm really looking forward to it.

My fav of her books was born of Night and Born of Fire!

I think I would re read those every single year if I had time to fit them in. :)
