I would be interested in reading The Name of the Wind with you Julia. It is actually one of my books for the chunkster challenge and I was hoping to get to it some time in September anyway :)

The Name of the Wind! One of my favorite books! I feel like I need to reread them in preparation for book three. If you've never checked out Patrick Rothfuss' blog, you should. He is hysterical.
So, Liz would you like to join us in September? He came to Spain last weekend I think and I was Reading stuff because I couldn't go, I read he has a blog, I guess I have to check it out now!
I'd love to join, but September is jammed for me already. I'll definitely join in the discussion. Kvothe is a great character!Rothfuss also had a really dark (not really for kids) picture book. I have a signed copy!
He has such a unique way with words, IMO. Plus, he has a son named Oot. How cool is that?!

I should be able to start it pretty much anytime in September so just let me know when you are ready to begin and we can set up a discussion thread for it.
Cool! I'll wait you on the thread then.I started the Name of the wind but I literally just read the first page, anyway, I loved it and I'd love to read the original English versión now!

Liz wrote: "Plus, he has a son named Oot. How cool is that?!"I believe that is just the kid's internet name ;)
Darn it, Rusalka. Now you have me questioning lil 'Oot' , you may be right! I swear, way back when Oot was just a baby, maybe early 2011, Rothfuss wrote a blog that "Oot" really was his real name. But now I can't find it. *sigh*
I am prepared to be corrected. Haven't seen that post. His other kid he calls "Cutie Snoo". I just seem to remember a StoryBoard episode when they were talking about how they deal blogging about their kids.
Hi Janice, Can you edit the title of the Chocolat Buddy Read to say Chocolat Series Buddy Read?
I am reading the 2nd book now and plan on the 3rd after. If anyone is interested to continue the conversation, I will be happy to keep posting. Do you think this is okay, or not?
Oh, good morning and thank you, Rusalka! Chilly and cloudy there, I see. It has been a beautiful day here. 25C right now. I am about to leave to go have dinner with Amy and her boys.
Have a good day at work.
Oh, I just saw your post in the other thread. Okay - scratch that about having a good day at work and I am sorry there is no "good" stuff left to drink. Do you have to go a special store to buy hard liqueur there or can you get it with the beer and wine at the corner market? In Oregon, we have to go to a State operated Liqueur Store. In California, it was much easier. The Liqueur Store was like 7-Eleven.
Thanks Cherie! Ooo 25 and family dinner sounds lovely. It's 11 right now, and should get to 15 but looks like rain. Starting to get warmer. Slowly slowly. I'm sort of working even though I'm home sick. All these things need to be bought on the company credit card today it seems, and it's in my wallet. Ah well, nothing too taxing.
And life is not too hard really, as much as I whinge. I can wander down the hill to our shops ("corner store") as we have two bottlos in our suburb. Classy.

Have a goo..."
We have a strange winter: 33 Celsius today, and at nigth still 20
I woke up this morning, sat on the edge of the bed, and wondered what that sound and dusty smell was. The furnace had kicked in! We went from 30C on Sunday to single digits this morning. I doubt that we will see temps around 30 until next summer.
Oh, I used to hate that "first time on" furnace smell, Janice! I saw that it had cooled off for you today.
It's the hair burning smell in my house :( The problems when you shed more than any dog you have ever owned.
Cherie wrote: "Where in South America are you, Mariab? Down by Alejandro?"Tropic of Capricorn.
Who is Alejandro?
Alejandro is a guy on my friend list on GR. He writes great book reviews! He is a Trekkie, like me. He lives in San Jose, Costa Rica. He is currently reading Ready Player One. I can't wait to see his review.

It's supposed to be summer and I went to bed with a hot water bottle last night! (I do have a bit of a cold though which I'm sure doesn't help) It's about 17 degrees in the day but dropping to single figures over night.
17 during the day?!? Jeez I never get used to UK summers. It's the last few weeks of winter in one of the coldest places in Aus, and it's 15.
Sarah wrote: "I know! It was 30 a few weeks back though. Clearly Autumn is coming early this year!"It's meant to stay pretty chilly here for the next few days by the look of it :( Monday looks awful, wet and temperatures barely scraping 14 degrees during the day! Still, it is a Bank Holiday so I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised!
I woke to 2C this morning! Boy, when the heat turns off, it turns off! I broke out my jacket yesterday. Guess I can put away my shorts and sleeveless tops.
Same here, the past two weeks have been 17-19 degrees during the day. Rainy as well. It seems it's not getting any better in the coming week. I really hope we'll get some 25+ days soon, it's a depressing thought that autumn has already started early August :(I envy you Rusalka!
Peggy wrote: "I envy you Rusalka! "I'll remind you of that when we are on our 10th day of over 40 and on fire.
Cherie wrote: "Alejandro is a guy on my friend list on GR. He writes great book reviews! He is a Trekkie, like me. He lives in San Jose, Costa Rica. He is currently reading Ready Player One. I can't wait to ..."Ah, but CR is Nord Hemisphere
Monsoon passed us over this season. Summer's not ending. This has happened after 12 years. Send me some winters, people!
LOL, you made me dig out my old world globe, Mariab! Yep, CR is north of the equator. I see four countries in SA along the Tropic you indicated. :). No biggie, I was just curious. I like to see where people are in the world. This group has a very global readership. I love that!
Oh! Right. I'm in Paraguay. I didn't put the name of the country, because most people don´t know it and mistake it with Uruguay...:)
I had no idea you were in Paraguay, Mariab! I've always wanted to go there. For no reason, besides that my favourite book when I was 5 was the Atlas, and I picked all these places I wanted to go that were completely random. Paraguay, Iceland, Mongolia, you know...
Hi Janice.I set up a Buddy Read for Good Omens for Peggy and myself and anyone else who wants to come and join us. Here is the link. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Will you please add it to the calendar?
Janice wrote: "Thanks Cherie. I have added it. I have that book on my wishlist. I may join you if things work out."Hi Janice, Peggy just corrected me. I meant to say that we were starting THIS Friday, 12 September - Not in November. I corrected the date in the buddy read.
