Better, worse or just as amazing as VA.

Agreed. Extremely predictable. Richelle is a sassy writer and it just didn't show as much as it did in VA. Expecting a bit more from The Golden Lilly :) Adrian is amazing. I loved all his comments about his hands and manual labor :D

I consider it an extension of VA. It's continuing the story a bit after where richelle left off.

It's hard to say if I like it just as much as VA though. I think I will, but I just need the romance between Sydney and Adrian to develop a bit more first. I would also like to see Sydney delve more into trying magic. It would provide an interesting twist to the series if the rest of the Moroi society learned suddenly that humans could also practice magic.

To early for me to tell, but I hope(fingers crossed) its as amazing as VA. As far as I know, according to Mead's site, the book has been optioned as a movie, but no movement on it as far as casting or script as of yet. I just hope they don't totally screw it up, like they did with the original twilight. They need to find unknowns for all the major rolls, except maybe syndney...I see her as Natalie Portman.

Emma Watson could probably play her quite well. She has got some Hermione-ish parts of her personality. :P

true but anyone who really likes the Harry Potter movies and the Vampire Academy books (like me) would find it just plain weird for her to play Sydney because people are used to seeing her as Hermione and would think she needs a wand to do things but as we all know Sydney doesn't really like magic

I like Bloodlines, but I prefer VA... I think Rose was a better narrator and I liked VA's world more :)
I don't know, Bloodlines was a good book, but it failed to amaze me as much as VA did.
But I have to say that it's unfair to judge now, since only the first book is out. I agree with the ones who said that this series has potential, so I think it can definitely get better :)
