Words to the Wise Book 2 - Towards Darker Climes
I'm over 80% through book 1 so will be starting book 2 tomorrow if not tonight!! cant wait! :o)
I am at 23% of book 2 Jud. It's really good! I am just sad that I haven't had much time to read the last few days.
I wonder why it's appeared up here? This was happening to freebies a couple of weeks back. Lost in transit?
I just remembered I still have my lunch hour to take so will be starting book 2 today most likely :o)
It was posted on Book Recommendations, in case Simon or Patti can restore it to its righful place?
I found out why the freebie threads were appearing in general. When you start a thread, unless you choose a folder from the drop down section under title - it seems to automatically go into general. You didn't always have to do this. I forgot the other day - but when I went to edit the title I found the drop down menu still available so choose freebies and it went back to it's proper home!

Don't run yourself down, you're good. Just noticed Towards has a lower case t. Must have been excited! I'll change that too.
There's no picture for Book 2 on good reads :o( That makes me sad. I like my frontpage to have a picture of the book i'm reading
I noticed that too, Jud. By the looks of things there appears to be one with a cover on Goodreads and one without. I'm not too certain why this should be the case. Perhaps you could swap to the other version, although you may have to ask Simon about that.

Near the end, Jud, there's a passage where Rickard tells the Wanderer what the horse thinks about him. That's fabulous. It still makes me laugh! Have you got there yet?

That's quite poignant isn't it? I think she says something like, 'the young are there to remind the old about something but she can't remember what it is!' - that's just off the top of my head. I'm not quite that old!

Many of those who have tried Book 1 as a result of the November Books threads have gone on to read Book 2. I think this book is even better, necessarily so because we now know a little about the Wanderer and have some suspicions about his hidden past. We find out rather a lot more in this. The opening chapter is fast, exciting and grim but it gives us a lot of clues. We meet Rickard - what the newspapers would call a 'lovable rogue'! This young man is a wonderful counterpoint to the Wanderer's morose nature. If you like Book 1 you'll love Book 2. If you've tried this too, tell the world what you think (but not what happens - don't spoil the story!)
