Jen (jenniferdenise) I love the stories, plots, characters. I've absolutley loved the books I've read so. (not that many books compared to most of you though :) However I don't really care for the recurring ghosts, or imaginary friends. If all of his books have this theme, I will probably not read many more of his books. But I wonder, if this is exactly what his followers/fans enjoy about his books? So I ask, what draws you to read Nicholas Sparks' novels?

Isabel (isabelsong) | 2 comments I love his writing and the perfect way he can pull everything together. The characters are always good, and the plots are fantastic. I love the romance in his novels and watching the characters fall in love. Plus, Nicholas Sparks really knows how to tug at your heart and get to your emotions.

Ashlee (ashlee_) | 46 comments His writing style. I love the fact that while he has a similar writing style in all of his books, each plot is different. It's intimate that he sets every book in a town in NC (a place close to his heart) and the easy going nature of his characters. All the women he writes about are lovely, well mannered ladies that (at least I know I personally) would love to be like in life. And if there's a particular snobby character he's writing about, we all love to hate them and cheer when they get what's coming to them (they ALWAYS do in his books). I'm drawn in to his use of detail, because he can have one scene simply describing a character making dinner and I feel like I'm sitting at the table with them. Sometimes he even goes out of the box and does a little supernatural (like in Safe Haven). I just really enjoy how his work can take me out of my world and put me somewhere else when I read his books. The characters he creates become friends to me as I follow them along the journey that the book takes. In a nutshell I just enjoy his style of writing, I like not knowing what to expect and wondering if anyone will die or miraculously live. I think if a book ever makes you truly angry, sad, or happy...then the author has truly done a good job at making his scenarios realistic and believable. <3

Christina (royalesque) | 3 comments As I've said previously in my introduction post, I just love the way Sparks writes... I love how I'm drawn into each story the minute I start reading. I love all the emotion... the laughs, the tears, the "Awwwwes" etc. and the feeling as if I'm apart of the story. Although, I believe in fairytales, I love that his stories are real and down to earth... reality that can be related to by many... Sparks just has a way with words and is a very talented writer!

yeah.. so captivating... <3 i always fall in love with his work. :)

message 17: by Margo (new)

Margo I think for me that "thing" that draws me in are the characters. They always develop over duration of a story and gain "something" more that just "simple" love. They get closure or get back to their family or get ther confidence back. I really love his books and I think I cryed on all of them :)

message 18: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) The way he create characters, and the story itself.
and people could relate themselves on the story..

it really touched people's lives.

message 20: by Bahar (new)

Bahar His writing style is definitely what draws me to his books.. He can make you laugh in one minute, and have you crying the next.. And the way he describes each moment of the story, each feeling that one usually thinks cannot be put into words <3 it's awesome..

I love how he makes you feel like anything is possible if you take a chance. He makes you realize that true love is out there and that it's worth waiting for. I also love how he makes you feel apart of the love story like it's happening to you. He's just a joy to read.

Nadia | 3 comments I started reading Nicholas because I liked the movies, and as I am not an English native speaker, I find his novels easy to understand.
The first one I read was the notebook and since then, I've loved his novels.

Francis | 3 comments I was totally touched by the movie THE BEST OF ME than I started checking anything from Nicholas Sparks uncontrollably!!!

message 31: by Francis (new)

Francis | 3 comments Agree his books are very easily to interpret for a English leaner like me Nicolas Sparks can use the simplest works to describe the most complicated emotions within human beings.
